First, let it be know that I am very lazy and haven't gotten a drivers licence even though I am 18. Now I am finally trying to get my permet, and I can't help be screw up. Early this morning I went to a dmv, and because I'm an idiot I failed the test by one problem. Studied. Later in the day, I went to another dmv, passed the test with flying colors. Went up to take the vision test, but then the guy administering it sees that I checked off the box that says I suffered from seizures(I haven't had one in 12 years and have been off medication for at least 8) and he gives me a forum for a doctor that says I haven't had a problem in three years(huge hassel to get filled out, well maybe not if I can get my former doctor's fax number). Needless to say I am royally pissed at my own stupidity. Fell free to laugh at my foolishness, I deserve it.

Yeah I know, especially now. What I'll likely do is go to another dmv. They don't talk to each other nor or they very organized individually. Just last week a box of blank drivers lincences were stolen(left under a desk I believe) along with a bunch of personal info.

I had a similar thing when I got my temp license, I needed a certificate from my doctor, when I arrived at city hall with that, they didn't know what to do and first refused to add that to my application !
Now that I have my permanent license, nothing about my condition or my need for check ups is printed on it, I might be breaking the law by having that license, but at least I tried.
i got my learners easy, first times a charm.
thanks,

I got mine first time too. I got 4 questions wrong, but I still got it. One was a trick question, I hate how they do that.

GOT IT. Went to the dmv where I passed and paid for my honesty. Lied Said I had to leave before the vision test because my mon was going to work. They put me back in line, but I had a differenet set of documents that said I didn't have siezures ever. Didn't get the guy I had yesterday, and got my permit.

Way 2 go Discovery!
I got the minimum score to pass AND almost failed the eyesight test. :dizzy2:
I guess I'm just lucky like that. Anyone have any advice for the driving exam?

I got no problems with that. No siezures ever and my eyesight's 20/16 (better than 20/20).
Remember that I got my drivers license over 30 years ago, and I lived in a small town at the time.
I wrecked my first car at the age of 4 - mom left me in a manual transmission at the top of a hill while she went inside I went for a ride.
I wrecked my second, a truck, at the age of 13. While deer hunting I got a little drunk and hit a tree.
Anyhoo, the point is that I drove a lot before I got a license. I drove trucks, a tractor, cars, even a train before I turned 16.
The day I turned 15 and 7 months I drove myself to the DMV to take the test. I passed the written test with a very good score.
When I went to take the driving portion I drove just like my dad, about 5 miles over the speed limit in town with one arm out the window waving.
I drove down a narrow residential street, and just like dad taught me I drove kinda in the middle (there was no oncoming traffic) in case a kid or something jumped out from behind the parked cars that lined the street.
I rolled through stop signs (as is the style out west).
The inspector told me that I was way too confident and not nearly cautious enough, so he failed me.
Here's where it got tricky. He asked me where my parents were - cause remember I drove myself to the test site - and he got suspicious and wouldn't leave me alone. I think he knew that as soon as he turned his back I'd drive myself home. I had to tell him that my mom dropped me and the car off and then had a friend take her back to work.
I had to sit at the DMV until it closed (thankfully guv workers go home on time) before I could drive home.
The second time I had to drive around like a scared geek. Looking twice in the mirrors, driving below the speed limit, pretending to be new at it. Then I passed.

ps haven't caused an accident since . . .

I almost failed my permit test because of the vision part. I wear contacts, but at the time i had been wearing the same pair for over a year *i lost all the others* and my vision was blurry as hell in my left eye. The lady let me pass because i read 4 of the 6 letters right.
On the drivers test it self, as im leaving the parking lot i almost fail. I start to turn, and then a car comes FLYING down the street and almost hits me. The instructor yells STOP! Luckly i was already breaking, so I didnt get marked down for an intervention *automatic fail* and just got a mark on not looking around enough.
Just for fun when i was taking the drivers training, my instructor was asking which buttons and gages did what. He pointed to the emergancy blinkers and said "whats this for?" so just to have fun i said "um... pop the trunk?" He didnt find it nearly as funny as I did.
