Wouldn't it be cool? A new TW game where you could choose a civil war and act it out on a campaign map.

I would actually like to see a America vs. Indians matchup. You'd get a better mix of styles going there. U.S was formal open field based. They trained to kill at a distance against similar army compositions. Indians fought in a way that melded guns with their traditional form of warfare and hunting. They favored fighting up close and personal.
U.S cavalry dismounted to attack whereas the Indians would close to midrange on horseback in loose formation fire and retreat. The Indians would also have melee cav which the U.S wasn't trained to counter. They were also more freethinking in how they used guns. They sniped with long rifles, used pistols in close combat. The biggest advantage was their use of repeating rifles which they used like bows . The U.S was still using single shot weapons. Through Custer's last stand at least, the Army heads thought that repeaters would encourage soldiers to shoot wildly and waste ammunition. Big mistake. Very similar to the battle of Carrhae because an Indian scout told Custer not to attack at Little Big Horn.
