If you get on, signup on realm Azjol-Nerub as Horde and look for a big Tauren Shaman called "Brigantius" wondering around Orgrimmar. Thats me. ~D

I've been thinking of buying this game, but obviously what with the $13-16 monthly fee it would represent a fairly large investment. Is it worth the cost?

Nah, come to EQ2 instead.

Most definately. 15 dollars a month is nothing if you really think about it. Heck, one hamburger costs $5, think of it that way.

WoW is a great game, it has amazing graphics and a solid core game, it also has great replayability. I have a level 60 and level 40 character currently. They'll be adding battlegrounds soon, too, which should eliminate the one bad thing about PvP: the rather bad lag.

Hehe, 15 bucks is not bad man, as Disruptor says, thats like 3 burgers these days.

I would enter this game, wer it not for its rediculous price for the game. mFor mmo's, I either get game client, or buy cheaper 1s. I might get my friend to give me his old copy.... check on some of the other mmos out ther 2, a few other good ones. EQ2 is a joke imo, why do you play a mmo if not to pvp?! thats the most important part! Go for 1 with good pvp style and good pvp environment. I play Asheron's Call (due for a patch next month), awesome pvp game as for once u dont have to be the same, or higher lvl than some1 to be able to kill them...

I refuse to pay extra for a full priced product. I wonder when pay for play will become the standard.

It wont become the standard for non mmo games. It is understandable as they are using very powerful servers that cant have downtime, in game moderators/gm's....
But now that I play mmo's, I dont have time/fun in games like TW n e more, so the real quesion is when do mmo's become the standard?

See, that PvP thing is another big reason why I haven't bought WoW yet. I mean, yes, it has PvP, but from what I'm hearing there are just so many restrictions to it. The thing I like most about MMO's are the guild/clan wars. If the PvP allows for it the politics surrounding clans can actually get pretty intricate, not to mention the battles. But, and let me remind you I'm no expert on WoW, it seems that the PvP in World of Warcraft has guilds essentially reduced to groups of players that do stuff together rather than massive player-run armies with political aligments with other guilds. Maybe I should just wait for Guild Wars?

Didnt here many good things about guild wars... I checked a reviewers website, some very pissed fans that had felt ther ideas hadn't gotten through, and that it wasnt a good game...Dont know for sure though. I'll talk to a friend who's played wow, find out about the pvp system..

I just thought I'd resurrect this thread and see if anyone is playing this game. My housemates have been playing since it came out, but for a couple of months I refused to buy it and finally a couple of weeks ago I caved in. I had never played an MMORPG before and to be honest, it is quite a revelation.

I can't believe how addicitive it is, I have given over 5 days of my life to this game in the past 2 weeks ~ . If anyone is interested, my character is a Troll rogue called Boohugh on the Skullcrusher server and my guild is called Souls of the Abyss.

I have given into the temptation. ~D

Furthermore, a great deal of my friends from the CoD scene, an overwhelmingly great deal of them, has picked up WoW. I never played a MMORPG before, but WoW has gotten me engulfed entirely. Incredible, but true.

I'm with you there but I think we are minorities, therefore they will milk the majority and ignore the few of us who will not give in to the darkside er I mean line the pockets.

It's my understanding though that a lot of the small ones/old ones will let you download it for free.
