View Full Version : The next Total War game - Napoleonic Era (from Pyro Studios)
Well, maybe we get this time more than hype from another company:
http://www.gamespot.com/pc/strategy/imperialglory/index.html?q=imperial+glory
Take a look at the screenshots of Imperial Glory, the resemblance to Medieval: Total War and Rome is obvious.
Well, I hope Pyro does not stop after copying looks, I hope they rather improve on the M:TW gameplay and use a slower-paced engine than Rome: Total Hurry.
Anyway, this is good news, I hope the final product will stand up to my expectations! :charge:

Visit the Arena for more info on Imperial Glory.. There's a thread there with a link to a demo download..
Thank you, Craterus.
Seems as if they also wanted to improve on the bad parts of the game.
Another hope lost! :(

Another hope lost! :(
Yet perhaps it will be more moddable. I have played the demo and it does have much to offer. We shall have to wait see what the divine modding gods can manufacture for us mere mortal non-modding types. ~;)

It looked even more RTS-like than RTW (but I havent played the demo yet).

The game is bad, soldiers fighting to death, no panic or fleeing....
The controls are bad too...
I don't really like the game play.

I for one would like to see Napoleonic Total War done by Activision/CA,
Speaking from experience our full conversion mod for MTW/VI ,
Napoleonic Total War 1 and the upcoming adaptation for the Rome platform, we were only able to do so much with the limited mod capabilites of the games engine,
so alot of smoke and mirrors to acheive what we have so far.
So if CA would take the Napoleonic era and and make a viable/Moddable version for the PC , I for one would be happy.
They should make this version MODDABLE ,
but also furnish mod tools along with the release.
This has been done with alot of the popular FPS games out today with much success.
Mods and modders should not be veiwed as evil hackers bent on destroying the product programmers put together.
Just the opposite, we compliment there work!
and bring more to it in the way of interest in the commuinty which has it's benefits the exposure, sales etc. I do not see a downside.
More cooperation between the games creators and the community and modders will only improve the games chances at better exposure
So to Activison /CA I challenge you to just that.
Give us a Napoleonic version of Total War.
And hey we would not mind consulting on the content!! ~;) LOL
