Where can I get/read about RTR?

I'd like to read about the Rome Total Realism mod and maybe download and play it. I was thinking a simple search of this site would take me right to what I'm looking for but am finding it's not that easy. Can anyone provide a link to info and download? Once it's installed, will it apply to my current campaign or must I start a new one.

You will need to start a new campaign. Such major changes as we're making require that in RTW.

I heard you can't uninstall it. If this is true then it is a problem as there is no easy way to go back to vanilla RTW.

Any comments?

If I thought it was hard to uninstall, I wouldn't have installed it in the first place.

AFAIK, the only directory RTR touches is the Data directory. All you have to do is back up your RTW Data directory before installing RTR. Then you should be able to swap between RTR and RTW just by renaming its directory to "Data" and the other one to something else.

I"m pretty sure that's all you need to do, but check the documentation on the RTR website.
