I've never really modded before, and am trying to make new faction icons. There are some files that have a .tga.dds extension at the end. I'm not sure how to save them right in Photoshop.

Do you have the .dds plug-in for it?

If you don't, you can get it here

I already have the plugin. I just don't know what I'm doing.

oh, yes.
If the box saying "no alpha channels will be saved" click OK.
For save format, have it on "DXT 1 RGB (no alpha)", and 2d texture
and make sure that "generat mipmaps" is selected

I already save it like that. If I save it as a .tga.dss file, the image is doubled (another being added to the right). I don't suppose I could save it as a .tga or .dss file, could I?

I think the game only reads the *.tga.dds files.
I use Paint Shop Pro 7, so perhaps it is something in Photoshop. I can't say that I've ever had that problem. Try the *.dds.

The tutorial helped. It was simply a matter of having the lower case extensions it seems. Thanks. Both of you.
