there were two written in ancient times maybe more one was by arrian i think thats the correct spelling the other by a roman.can somebody please help me out with the titles and authors or any other biographies [ancient ] connected to alexander or his father[philip]. :book: :book:

This belongs in the Apothecary. Well you mostly right. But there are 3 Alexander biographies. Don't forget Plutarch. The Roman one's name is

There were so many biographies of Alexander. Although I can't exactly provide links, there were of course Hellenistic accounts of his journies, most notably Ptolemy, as well as his main admiral, Nearchus, IIRC.

I must say I'm not even sure the accounts I mentioned above were preserved to this day at all...

if any one has seen michael woods programe on alexander [england history channel i missed it recently ] there are two main books used, read by him the first is arrian the other mentioned from the roman period but i can not rember the authors name the roman book is more of a warts and all affair as opposed to arrians glowing tribute. any way thanx again.
