That's to do the look of the models, the skins, shield design.
thank you for youre quick respond, and i already did what you asked me to do but paint shop pro keeps saying that the filr formay isnt the right one so i cant get further and its the same with photoshop to, so i downloaded the pluggins and the xpak who i did have all along but it doesnt work, ive got the spqr mod installed, could that be the problem?
please bear with me cus im going nuts but i wont give up.

filr formay ?
Do you mean file format?
Are you using the nvida plugin? I used the DX plugin once and that didn't work...

You really need Photoshop (Paintshop wont do) and properly installed plugins. In studio max you make sure that all texture paths are correct (Menu-Rendering-Material Editor) - very often skins have to be manually applied to the models

I use Paint Shop Pro and it works fine so long as you have the right plugins...
And by the way welcome to the forum

Hey don't give up! What program are you using, PSP or Photoshop?
Here:
Adobe PhotoShop Normal Map and DDS Authoring Plug-ins (http://download.nvidia.com/developer/NVTextureSuite/NVIDIA_Photoshop_Plugins_7.33.0325.1320.exe)This installer contains two plug-ins. The first creates normal maps from height maps for per pixel rendering. The other is a DXTC texture compression plugin for Adobe Photoshop that allows you to open and save .dds files in RGB format. It reads and writes .dds files compressed or uncompressed. If you're using Jasc Paint Shop Pro, read these simple instructions (http://download.nvidia.com/developer/NVTextureSuite/Paint_Shop_Pro_Steps.pdf) that explain how to use the DDS Authoring plug-in with.
And another usefull tool:
DDS Thumbnail Viewer (http://download.nvidia.com/developer/NVTextureSuite/DDS_viewer.exe)Allows you to view .dds files in Thumbnail view in the Windows Explorer. Now with an installer.
To install a plugin for photoshop, make sure you install it into the plugins folder (or plug-in I'm not sure which)
i'm using both but it still doesn't work, so i'm quiting thanks for all your help but this is to ****** up :furious3: :furious3:

I use PSP8. I can't post screens right now, but this is what I did:
http://download.nvidia.com/developer/NVTextureSuite/Paint_Shop_Pro_Steps.pdf
And your too late for that unit, Myrddraal is a creature from the Wheel of Time and so is a unit in the WoT mod, check it out in the hosted mods section. Its basically an eyeless pale faced bloke (hence my avatar...)
YES... i did it, now it works. thank you so much my friend.
now i will learn how to edit the texture :charge:
i will post my progress here so you can see how i'm doing.
again thanks very much
