Total War barbarian Invasion

Computer gaming World in a news blurb mentions a new TW game from Activision named Barbarian Invasion coming middle of september. Anyone heard on this?

I've seen several posts that the Rome XP would be something like Barbarian Invasions, but haven't seen anything solid from the devs.

If it does turn out to be "Barbarian Invasion", it will be an awe inspiringly predictable announcement. People have been speculating about that for at least two years: see here.

It is in the May 2005 issue of CGW on page 40 at the bottom in a `newsfeed`. Hadnt checked their site as I really dont trust news from the gaming mags, which is why I asked. If you guys hadnt heard anything then I wont hold my breath.

To me this indicates that CA has not started working on an xp. Especially since Sega owns them now. Considering the business stuff that has gotten involved I won't hold my breath for an XP. After the way CA reacted to the patch campaign, I'm not sure I'd buy the XP anyway.

Y'know guys, there's a very real chance that the TW series for PC is dead and CA is just a console manufacturer now. Food for thought.

Not very nourishing food, that. There will be an expansion, CA isn't going solely consoley - there are many threads to this effect, honest.

Agreed. Besides, even if the only TW game in the future was AKC/Eukanuba Championships: Total War, I'd still buy it. Why? It's Total War, of course! :happyg:

Sadly thats what I thought. perhaps I should lock myself away and do a Hyborian Total War, the world of Conan.....
