O Creative Assembly
O manifester of historical entertainment
Doest thou hear our plight?
Doest thou hear our sorrows?
O damned currency
O callous dictator
Wilt thou release us from thine devices?
Wilt thy absolve us our woes?
O Activision
O cruel tyrant
Release thine slaves to their fields
Release their creative pleasures
Hear our our bitter repung
O curator of historical entertainment
O prison for our essential malaise
A bittersweet sound
Is but a glimmer of prior glory
O Total War
O broken solace
We mourn your past
And alight our eyes to better days.

Aye, for the winter shal not beset us when the summer still shines. Let our champions help, let them not be held by the gods. I seeketh only Elysium on earth, but nay shall I find it, if the leaves do not fall differently.

Thine heroes abide among us still, their stalwart limbs toil indifferent to the winter's course. The wind may blow and by which their hearts may falter - but not upon this day do our heroes toil unabated by their followers faithful.

Be it so that the heroes defy the gods, for they are but mere husks of envy and greed. My hope.
Salvation be not forgotten, but yet it might not be found lest our heroes return to us with strength, for what is our world? Does it not slip towards the winter?

"I Told You So" - The Delfonics (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B000002VTL/ref=m_art_li_1/104-1882645-4403111?v=glance&s=music) (lyrics swiped off the web).

Oh...oh...
Yeah...yeah...
Oh...oh...oh...

Told you so
You could never let me go
‘Cause I told you so
I told you so

How many times you try to leave me and never
{You never go}
How many times you say that you hate me and oh
{You love me so} Listen

‘Cause I told you so
You could never let me go
‘Cause I told you so
I told you so

How many times you said you’re leaving and never
{You never go} No
How many times you say that you hate me and oh
{You love me so} Listen

Told you so
You could never let me go (I)
‘Cause I told you so
I done told you so

What do Yee feel when the clouds darken? I see but a bird picking from Us! Little bird what do you do? Our world is not to be taken lightly.
Bring back Our heroes, for they are Our salvation. But as apples fall, so do tyrants, and let it be known that they will never get from Us what We will not give.
Ours is destitude and sadness, but also unity and hope!
Send to Rome what Rome needs, for she is the shining beacon in the darkness and We would not be without her guidance.

Aye such a world. To be sought by birds! Vermin of the skies! by the gods! Verily the task is great, but hark: did the Pharaohs cringe when laden with the toils t'ward their lasting greatness? Nay. Did the Romans abide bedridden, fearful t'ward toils in war? Nay!
O Total War!
O fallen Ajax
Hopeful thoughts abide as such,
Twilight comes, yet courtiers, faithful,
Reside still, hopeful thinking:
Perhaps it be thine Elba, pray not St. Helena,
O Total War

Oh CA, if thy benevolance be infinate as thy scriptures tell,
Bestow upon us unworthy the substance of our prayers,
Let us give thanks to thee,
Creator of wonders,
Shaper of miracles in digital form,
(Be they so slightley bugg'st),
And, in the granting of thy mercy the people will rejoice,
And feast upon the lambs and toads and tree-sloths and
fruit-bats and orangutans and breakfast cereals
Amen

(In constant sorrow through his days)

I am a man of constant sorrow
I've seen trouble all my day.
I bid farewell to old Sengoku
The place where I was born and raised.
(The place where he was born and raised)

For six long months I've been in trouble
No pleasures here on Rome I found
For in this world CA let me down
I have no friends to help me now.

[chorus] He has no friends to help him now

It's fare thee well Shogun my old lover
I never expect to see you again
For I'm bound to ride that northern railroad
Perhaps I'll die upon this game.

[chorus] Perhaps he'll die upon this game.

You can bury me in some deep valley
For many years where I may lay
Then you may learn to love another
While I am sleeping in my grave.

[chorus] While he is sleeping in his grave.

Maybe your friends think I'm just a stranger
My face you'll never see no more.
But there is one promise that is given
I'll meet you on God's golden shore.

[chorus] He'll meet you on God's golden shore.

hehe not quite original I know  to The Soggy Bottom Boys and their fantastic O Brother soundtrack

There are some very good poetic comments in this thread. It is such a nice way to express discontent and abandonment. I'm far from a poet or lyricist but I commend you folks for the creative efforts and the assembly of such.

The earth, it bleeds fresh
Pouring tears of ancient kings
Now glory laden.

Old glory subdued
Retrospective anomie
Crowds throng, hopeful tears

Turned away again
Distraught, confused asking: how?
O lame text, abide

Press still, question still
Though such morose unquenched comes
T'ward closed ears, pity.

Lament, warriors
Of times past; though go thine deeds,
Dashed now asunder

Once more may thee rise,
Heft up thine banner lofty
Filling hearts broken.
