A small prob, maybe you could help

I wonder if someone could point me in the direction of a fix for my prob.

I have successfully installed RTW and got to the menu page, started the game, gone through a few screens and text bubbles of the woman talking, she goes to move my army into battle, it zooms in, screen goes black for about 45 seconds, red screen appears with yellow loading bar. Bar loads and resets , a pause for about 30 seconds and then crashes to desktop with no error messages etc or anything.

I'm running
Athlon 2.4
512ram
64meg onboard graphics

I have looked about the forum for this error but could not find anything, if a thread already exists please accept my apologies :)

Have you in any way modified your game (ie, have you done anything apart from install the game and try to play it normally)?

If you have modified, please tell us what you did.

If you haven't then this is the wrong place for this question. You want to ask this in the Apothecary (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/forumdisplay.php?f=15).

I'm afraid that here we only know how to fix the game when we've broken it ourselves. ~D

:lol: Ok fair enough, no I hav'nt modded it apart from the 1.2 patch, but I done that thinking it would fix my prob.
