Heh, well i'm happy with that much info, but if you want anything extra added i'd put it in for sure.

Also what do u think about naming them 'current' clans, seeing as it is a history of Shogun and MI, but with the servers dead all clans are now not playing. Do you think a special section for clans who originated in Shogun/MI and have or will make the leap to MTW is necessary, coz i'm starting to think that way.

1 almost - sadly, the issue was resolved without bloodshed,
and 1 very short war with some Inane Clan who claimed to have formed some Four Months before Shoggy was released, and granted themselvs Oldest Clan status!!!!
They proceeded to pop into Doragon's public forum advertising their 'status'
A few nasty battles on one evening, after which I have never heard of them again - not that i'd ever heard of the before either...

Did i mentioned they screamed like stuck pigs when i cut their ears off?

Clan Philosophy:-
I do hope that those reading this understand that Clan Doragon is populated by a high percentage of Aussies, with laconic and self depreciating sense of humour. With a sprinkling of Anglo's and Yanks, and we have an 'interesting' mix.

IE:- we'll insult ourselves before we choose to insult someone else...
This attitude seems to infect all we come into contact with.

However there are benefits :-
Clan Doragon has the one and only TNG, otherwise known as The Naked Geisha

We all like a bit of a laugh, and our public forum is often consumed by more joke and riddle threads than gameplay threads, but the Clan's own forum has quite a few usefull tips and hints.


Clan Law and Code Of Conduct
All clan members are to conduct themselves with honour when playing online.
Members must not disgrace the clans reputation while on the public forums.
Behaviour considered intolerable include:
a. Rudeness/swearing
b. Flaming
c. General disruptive or unfavourable behaviour.

No Monk Rushing
No cheating of any form.
No ESCaping
No member may fight another member in competetive battles.

and there you have it!

...and the NEXT time Kenchi dies, I'm not gonna let 'em forget it...
... if i have to track down every one of their graves and drop a clove of Garlic into it, I will !!!

Doragon were quiet, but never dead, just because we didn't visit the org for a while,
check our forum, and scroll back through the old posts - it never stops for more than a day or two,
same with shades forum, check there and you'll see they've been active all along...

Not Visiting the Org is not an indication of death, but when a clans webspace disappears, and no-one anywhere is claiming to be of that clan - that clan is dead...

Just stop by our forum at look at the post counts. We have perhaps the 4th or 5th highest post count in all of STW (13,000 posts and counting). And Barocca is selling us short by saying we didn't have posts for a day or two - that has happened maybe twice in the last year.

We haven't been around very long but, we have several good honourable players as well as new, aspiring young players. We have not participated in many campaigns, or tournaments, but we enjoy just playing the game together, and having fun, we are all very good friends, and have alot in common. Hopefully once Medival dies(god forbid), we will remember Majestic in the same way we remember all of the great honourable clans as we are now. I would also like to mention 2 new possible recruits to the clan, fresh from Medival, Taki, a young honourable, willing to learn player, and Bright Thunder a gamer with shogun experience and good friend to me and my clanmates.(some of you might remember him from Shogun) I would also like to give a special thanks to RW clan, thanks for their support, and to all of my clanmates for being my good friends, and helping me through hard times in my life.

I see all the members on the Kenchi roster almost everyday. They're all getting MTW...1/2 of them got it already.

They're 12. Few still play MI though...but who does that anyway...

But just to put the record straight there was an error with the chronology on the history and all years should be +1
ie 2000 = 2001
As far as I'm aware(and I should know) the Insanes have never 'gone around' tellin peeps that were the oldest clan....because we aint. And Ive never seen u on the server ....does ur clan exist? btw we along with the Bear clan and Aggonys kept old shoggy alive until the server went down last month.

You can look at our forum posts, we have never had a break since forming and still have the 4 founder members in the clan. A clan that limps along with 1 member for ages then dissapears completely can hardly accuse Shades of being dead. Monsta must say that Monsta has seen Wraith and often other Shades on-line throughtout this year and the year before...although without bias (even though you wont beleive me)...I did not see any Kenchi for a long time..

The evidence is that Rage adopted Wraith when other Shades were away...but this wasnt often...

Monsta did see Satake a few times but Monsta cannot remember if he was wearing his Kenchi uniform or any for that matter.

All this aside, Momsta is just glad that both clans are here..

Tera you also stated that Rage were dead?

I would like somebody to come forward and tell when there wasnt a Rage on-line for longer than a week please....just becuase you cannot see does not mean we are not chopping off your head...ask Panza or the Black Knight..who are 2 of our members you may not recognise.

Tera propaganda is ok for the clan (Monsta does it now and again) but propaganda that fuels anger is poor...

The future looks bright for most clans...let it be. Kenchi survived the longest in the whole community so we won't have that problem Wraithy...we all love the clans we're in and some clan publicity does good...but people will always fight back so you have to be attentive...some are blatant...others are not and do it subtily (eg. 'Circle')

Who is posting in this thread never 'died' because we're still here...Rage, Shade...whatever...but we all had 'dark times'...Shade on MI after campaign...Rage the same...Kenchi in late 2000.

And so on...the new question...who will be here for Total War 3? Only the next year will tell...

If you go by the sheer number of games played 2v2 and up and multiply that by the time it took for each game to be completed, then Fearful Ways has been around longer than anyone. http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif We had well over 4000 comp games and an untold number of friendly games when we were all playing regularly on old STW. http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif

I was merely using Tera's definiton of clan longevity. In his opinion the age of a clan could be ascertained by how long it had been active NOT when it was formed. Using Tera's calculations clan A was formed 2 years ago...but was inactive for 9 months ergo the clan has an "age" of 1 year 3 months. Clan B was formed 18 months ago but has been active all the time ergo the clan has an "age" of 18 months. Therefore clan B is "older" than clan A, even though clan A was formed before clan B. Using a member of Kenchi's own criteria it is extremely implausible that Kenchi are the "oldest" clan, no matter how hard its members lobby to the contrary. http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif

btw, the wolves are a very old clan, we are stabil and all our members have good manners (this is important imo), we are not the oldest clan but some of our members are the "oldest" players. http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/tongue.gif

i think, a clan can just alive if the leader(s) are play regularly and if u DONT let too many guys in.
its important that u decide wise by choosing members, this was the prob of many clans wich are fallen....

the rest is all about fun, i realy enjoyed that we meet this year the 2nd time in europe and i found very good friends online, some of them i know since more than 2 years now...

Baz your point about footy teams has too many holes...what happens if a clan that formed on the ery first day of STW came back now and got together even though they may have not played since that first day...are they also the considered the oldest?

I played Kag a couple of weeks ago...just a quick 1v1 though. Regarding the ctd's, I have never had any until last night. Couldnt join or host a game..got brassed of and did something else for a few hours tried later on and played no problem..go figure?
