I'm trying something simple: Changing the Egyptian Pharaoh's Guard unit from a "Spear/Shortsword" phalanx spearman unit to a "Shield/Longsword" heavy infantry unit.
And much to my surprise, it worked great!
I used 3ds Max 7 to remove the original weapons, and add the new weapons from other units (Barbarian Chosen Swordsmen & Eastern Bronze Shield). It was actually much easier than described in the relevant tutorials - it takes just a couple of minutes once you know how.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
But here's the fly in the garum: I can't seem to edit the low resolution .cas files. So my cool new Egyptian Guards look like they have the spears again if I zoom out.
Specifically, if I modify the low resolution files with 3ds Max 7, and then try to use the script "CAS_IE_b69.ms" to export them, I get an error:
"Mesh has no TVFaces", and the script crashes.
Even if I import a low res .cas file, then try to immediately export it with no changes, I still get the error.
Any suggestions?
