Forgive me if im wrong but i could have sworn i read somewhere that it was hard coded that u had to have at least 50 provinces on your campaign map in order for it too work. THis is not true in an effort to simplify my camp map as much as possible and to work from scratch i had just two provinces(on of which is Rome) and the game ran perfectly. was this already know or did people think that there had to be 50 provinces. The only thing was that i got an Imminent defeat message becasue as u might expect i couldnt ever win by capturing 50 provinces if there were only 2 lol.this could make creating camp map's alot easier because u can start simple and work your way up adding one province at a time.

That's useful to know. Perhaps the person who wrote the comment meant what you're saying that its not possible to have a sub 50 provinces campaign map because of the innability to win the game. Or maybe they were just full of wrong.

I wonder if you play a short game whether this requirement drops to 15 provinces? It would make sense. That would allow you to do some serious play testing on an early campaign map or let you create a quick provincial campaign.

I knew that because I developed my own campaign in this way, from 6 provinces to the current 76. In all the steps the map was functional.

Regarding the victory condit¡on, the question of 15 or 50 provinces comes from the selection made in the last imperial campaign. So if you want the short campaign, you must select imperial campaign, set the new victory conditions and it will be automatically set in the provincial campaign.

I am not sure what happens with the second condition: destroy or survive to other faction(s). This could be a problem when some factions are eliminated from the campaign.

There is another wrong requirement: the need for a Latium region and a Rome city for the campaign to work. Yesterday I prepared a greek map without that region and settlement and it works, at least for 6 turns. Again this could affect to the victory, as the requirement of taking Rome cannot be fulfilled.
