You shouldn't let the lack of a publisher stop you clayton. If you show the publisher a good product, they will publish it. I think it is the rare individual who can get a publishing agreement without a single word being written yet. And as I said before, the more you write the better you will get.
Last note, let's keep all your updates and information regarding your book in this thread. Although your would-be book is one on history, this is a history forum, not a publishing forum. I don't want to see 10 different threads on the book. Is that fair enough clayton?

The publishing process can be one of the most soul-destroying ones I have ever been through. Don't feel badly if you get rejections-- pretty much everyone does at some point. Do spend as much time as you can on presentation-- even if it is a great book, you need to sell it to the publisher by explaining in detail who its audience is and why it will sell. It was only after I realized this that I finaly got a contract.

Just saw a commerical about "on demand" publishing offered by Xerox. Just thought I'd mention it for those who are interested. One copy or a few or many they claim they can accommodate anyone's needs.

You should continue work on the book until you find a publisher. Most publishing companies will not take you on unless you have done a lot of work for them to see.

I'll PM you with the details, Aurelian; I like to stay anonymous on these boards.
