Save your data folder, uninstall, delete everything in there, reinstall; You should be able to save it.
Unless by "messed up install" you mean your data folder was erased...

I feel for you , but like Khelvan said, you can try to salvage some of it.
Remember, its easier to do if you've done it before...

no i was modding new units and sumthing went terribly wrong. and the worst part is i don't know what it was. so i'm busy putting back the hundreds of little repairs i did before adding skins making heat more realistic. making the AI better and stuff
create a shortcut to your rtw.exe and go to its properties and add - show err and it will tell you whats causing the errors when you use that shortcut

i did, but it didn't helped me. it said descr_models_battle, well that's the same as mod everything over again
didnt it tell you what line it was on? you can use the tabs at the top (under view \ go to) to get the that line and check it out

Hm, you should only take out what you did most recently
its likely a simple enough error in that file. I typo or something
Work backwards, taking out the stuff you did one at a time.
Always do a couple things at a time or one even, never do a whole pile I did that once when I started modding RTW, and after having to redo all my work over again, I decided to take one step at a time, It may seem like it takes longer but in the long run it save time and effort!

Or he could do the M$ time warp.
I used it to get back all my CoD files once.
It works like a charm.

Too bad... I feel sorry for you.
I killed my install of RTW too, fortunately, I was able to do a new install and extract all of my important modding (map files) to it, where they ran without any problem.
Anyway, hope that you are able to figure somethign out.
But if you can't, then there is always a ~:grouphug:!

Hey, congradulations, and it's good that you fixed the problem. It was probably something dreadfully simple... it always is.
