View Full Version : Got mods if I want it?
So it took me several years, but I finally ended up with a copy of Medieval Total War. I decided to wander around the net and see if I could find some mods, and it appears that there are some, but at least on this site, there's no description or reviews, just the file name - not enough info to change my game. So my question to you, dear experts, is what should I download?
I'm most interested in game balancers, I think. Something which takes the units and changes them to be more realistic and/or more fun, or which makes some of the factions (like the Turks) actually viable. I do have the Viking Invasions as well. Well-designed maps would be cool too.
So what's out there?
Me and my housemate are loving the XL Mod at the moment. Adds new factions, splits up some provinces, alot of new units and refines the AI so no more cruddy armies for you to annihilate in your sleep. Also it's toned down the trading income and increased farming income. ~:) Also modifies the Morale of alot of units, makes for much better battles.
PS - I thought the Turks were one of the better factions to play with. in VI at least. Gotta love their specialist units and hybrids! :book:
Check the one in my sig... Still a beta but it's stable and easy to install/uninstall
I'm liking the XL mod, if only because I get to play as Novgorod and Eastern Europe is supercool. I think I would like it much, much more if it said "Venetians" instead of "Venitians."
My problem with the Turks wasn't how fun they were, though the few times I played with them I either got a game-crashing bug or sick monarch with no heirs. It's more that the AI always loses with them. In fact, Islam seems to be totally out in pretty much all the games I played - I successfully destroyed it on Crusade with the French in my first reasonably successful game.
Zarax, I'd be a lot more interested if you, uh, told me what it did. That's all I ask.
Check the Zx Minimod Thread, it should be between the first ones...
