1) Is snow cold? :dizzy2: ~ ~D
2) Can snow be modified so that units cannot move across it, effectively halting them in winter in nortern climates?
3) Can snow be made invisible on the campaign and battle maps?

Thanks,

Prince Laridus Konivaich

1. Yes

2. Hm, not sure, I think snow slows movement, and the amount by which it does might be moddable, but I really don't know.

3. Not really, on the campaign map, there is only one texture for snow, and it covers everything. you can edit this texture, but it will still blanket everything.

There's a separate movement modifier for snow on the battlemap, I don't think there's any difference on the strat map.

As for making it invisible on the strat map, I don't know much about it, but you're normally able to just replace the snow tile textures with another sort.

In descr_aerial_map_ground_types.txt some ground_types in some climates have two tga files given next to them. The second (i.e. the rightmost one) is what shows up on the strat map for that ground type in that climate during winter. If you delete the second entry ("artic.tga"), it should just use the summer tga all year round. Of course, that only does the job on the strat map. Battles will still be snowy.
