Has anyone had any luck trying to get negative "bonuses" for buildings to work in any way at all? I'd really love to get a few working, but I guess there's not much hope. Doesn't make much sense why they'd not have included this as a possibility (and it's weird that the "minus" doesn't cause any problems, it's just not read apparently).
Some of them even display, but they don't work. Contrary to what others have said, they don't cancel out other benefits either.
There are a few ways you can accomplish the same thing -- you can create a "default" bonus, and deny it through complex conditionals, for one.
The only negative "bonus" that works is the trade modifier.

They do work. Trade and taxes modifiers at least work for certain. Squalor reducing ones don't seem to work like they should, though.
Which tax modifier would that be?
