Hi all,

I have heavily moded the units of the RTW and though the game loads perfectly (checked it with the debug switches on) I get a CTD after the first or second year while it calculates the last of the factions (usually in slaves except if I am playing slaves)

Has anyone faced this problem, do you know what causes it?
Any ideas?

Thanks

Yeah, I had the same problem some time ago.
In that case I had eliminated some "useless" units from export_descr_units, but some of those units were still present in descr_rebels. Thus, the CTD happened when the game created a rebel army containing those units, and it was a random event.

Be careful with the "hidden" slave units, as the generic owner roman includes also the rebels belonging to the roman culture. There was my mistake.

I hope you solve the problem.
Good luck.

This can also be a problem if you have left an unavailable unit in export_descr_building.txt, or a unit that you changed the ownership available to be built for the old faction. When the AI tries to build it, CTD.

It must be the rembels ... the owneships changed and all was checked out ... I have deleted a large amount of units since what I am building goes back in time and created new units.
There were alos some logs claiming that it attempted to make wardogs that I have deleted ... so this must be it.

Thanks guys I will check them out and see what happens.

Unfortunatly it goes on ... I have checked out the descr_rebels but I have to go though the buildings file ones more for more cross check. :(

The thing happens always in the same time after the end of second turn.

Any ideas ... ~:mecry:

Unfortunately it is difficult to say anything helpful.

Do you remember what did you change after the last successful modification?

Unit names?
Building names?
Is the map the same as the original one?

Tell me more! Tell me more! ~D

Cheers.
