View Full Version : Entering Mode 4
I can't contain my excitement to my reality any longer, so I'll bring some of it unto these boards.
I just bought a Marshall Mode 4 halfstack for 1,800; delivery included. Sweet mother of amplifiers! 350 watts of power, enough to deafen me to an even greater extent than I already am! SWEET!!!
Best part is it was around 2 grand cheaper than the Mesa Boogie Triple Rectifier. That's moola I can use to upgrade to a full stack (though that's hardly necessary).

Looks sweet!
I'm so concerned about bothering others, I just plug headphones into my multi-effects box or my PC/GuitarPort. ~:) (I still get deaf!!)
*happy tear*
I guess that won't be comming from your neightbours ~;)
Excellent! You're going to love it and nobody's going to love you.
I had a Marshall once, but it was their keyboard amp (single unit amp/speaker) that came out in the mid '80s. It was a half tube/half transistor model. 50 watts I think. Good sound. It was ok with my synthesizers but better with my Korg BX-3 organ.
And it said Marshall on it. ~
*drools*.....
ohh....the neighbor annoyance possibilities are endless ~D
Well the beauty of it all is, I have a lockout with my band. As in, a studio space that we pay monthly for, and have our own key to.
24 hour access = heaven.
Daaaammmmmnnnn...... And are u sure you need to upgrade? Not necessary my friend....
I see you people are players, on what equipment do you play?
I have Epiphone g-400 (http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/fg=101/g=guitar/search/detail/base_pid/518291/) + JCM 800 2203 (http://marshallamps.com/images/products/vintage/2203.html), use straight, raw preamp sound, no effects, no nothing.

I'm a bass player myself. I'm currently using an Ibanez BTB 300 into a 100W Peavey combo.

I sir, play a Fender Squier Standard Double Fat Strat.
Do NOT be fooled because it's a Squier. I got it as a good deal in the early days, and it has proven to be my favorite guitar out of any I've ever played... and I've played all the "top row on the wall" guitars at Guitar Center ~;) .
I have plans on upgrading the guitar now with the new amp and all. If you ever have a chance to play a double fat strat, do so and surprise yourself.

Read some of the reviews there. Interesting stuff ~:)
Damn... sounds like I'm a Squier peddler...... meh...
As for effects, I'm a Boss man. These are the ones I currently own:
MT-2 Metalzone (no longer using that one obviously. the mode 4 distortion is king)
CE-5 Chorus Ensemble
DD-6 Digital Delay
BF-3 Flanger
PW-10 V-Wah
TR-2 Tremolo
PH-3 Phase Shifter
RV-5 Digital Reverb
PS-5 Super Shifter
Smoke a couple of bowls, sit back relax, and lemme do the rest ~;)
Have you played Marshall's Jackhammer pedal? Is it any good? I see it has 2 modes, OD and Distortion...

A guitarist friend of mine swears by his Jackhammer. It gives you a massive amount of control over your distortion and tone.
Latest addition to the arsenal...
