Anyone have a favorite? Kukri family is in the market. We bought a Hitachi 2 years ago to record our son's wedding. It works OK, but uses a mini-disc 'caddy' (round plastic enclosure) to hold the disc in the camera. That thing seems to interfere with making good re-recordable copies.
So we're looking for something that records straight to a naked, uncaddied, disc.
Panasonic looks good, with Sony a close second. Your take?

OK; no videographers online. Just got back from Circuit City, where we picked up this guy:

call it "God's gift to Point-and-Shooters".
I admit, a big selling point was the "Easy" button - automatic everything (for fumble-fingers like me). It does toggle out of 'easy' though, with many aspects adjustable.
I'll post a review here, after we play with it a bit.

I have that model too. Don't know why though, I have a photographic memory.

So what's that go for on ebay? With or without the booby trap?
Just joking!
I am told there's a door in the back, though the previous owner lost the key. Once you're in, the gas tank is on your left and the generator on your right. It might take a bit of repair and some elbow grease, but once you've got it running the lights pop on and you can proceed to the screen room where you put up the photonegatives one after the other against the back wall. Stand back for the flash, Kukrikhan, it might singe your moustache..

looks nice, kukri. do let us know what you think once you've put some miles on it. i was looking at some of those a while back, but first priority is a good digital slr. sadly, canon didnt make their new body, lenses and adapters backward compatible with my old F1 or i'd have already bought one.
