I don't want you to rush your work but can you tell me when we'll get the Beta at the rate you are working at?

"Finish" is an entirely subjective term in this context.

Right, but that rate will change. It's not consistent, they might find a huge bug and spend two weeks fixing it. any thing they say now will be totally wrong. What's the point?
I find that it's best to just completely leave people alone when it comes to release dates, modding is very stressful :dizzy2:

Sorry, there is no way to tell. The work is entirely about discovering these "incidents," as you call them, and dealing with them.

Like i said before, *anything* they say now will be totally wrong. You might as well talk to a witch doctor.
well, what will it help? everyhting they guess will only dissapoint people. i heard one say that the beta will be there in april. some peopel (NOT me) are dissapointed by that. so if nobody did any guessing. nobody will be dissapointed, and indeed call a withdoctor ;)

We used to give out RTR 6.0 release dates. First we were aiming for a release by the end of April, then we figured early May, then mid-May, then we were hoping for the end of May, now we've given up and started denying any and every possible release date. EB seems to have wised up quicker, being as they hoped for the end of April, then clammed up as soon as it was clear they would miss that one.
I have new sympathy for professional development teams who give "when it's done" as their release date.

The term 'public beta' applies to near-to-finished products that are by no means complete but have reached a point when their creators think they can give a general impression of the finished thing and adquire feedback from the end users.
When that point is reached, is not an exact science, and requires the solving of many unexpected issues and exhaustive discussion among developers about the minimum degree of completion needed to consider it deserves public release.
We can't give a date that even us do not know with accuracy but speculate about. I can only say that EB team is working hard and fast, things are coming along nicely, and coordinators are ruthlessly grasping the whips ~;p , so I guess our friends won't have to wait a lot to have a WIP EB installed in their HDs.
Right? ~;)

Not to be arguementative, but isn't that what beta testing if for?
Many of our current issues are rather large and noticable, having to do with additions or changes we make to how the game runs. They're pretty much impossible to not notice, and are huge irritations to playing the game properly. The beta we hope to have the major bugs and problems worked out (as well as have all our systems in place), so we can get more focused and nitpick over more minor issues and fix those without distraction from large game stopping irritations.

Trust me, soon can mean anything. Anyone here been a Beta tester of O.R.B? If so, you know what I mean with soon TM.
Mmm, I forgot the "ALT + number" combination of TM. Can someone enlighten me on that one.
