View Full Version : I'm not really sure if this is the right place for my problem.But RTR5.4.1 can't work

At first.And I'm sorry for my poor English. Because of my mother tongue isn't English.
I installed a clean RTW 1.0 and patched the patch 1.2. After that, I installed RTR 5.2, RTR 5.3, RTR 5.4 and RTR5.4.1. When I try to start the game, there is a problem. My game crashed at loading screen. And I couldn't play the game
I need help.

Ok I had a problem just like yours ,I take it the prblem is that the game goes back to the desktop when you want to start a new campaign right ? , because that is one of the most common problems out there.

what I did and it helped was the following;
go to your Data folder - open the WORLD file -then open the campaign folder -then Rome total realism - then delete the map.rwm file

That worked for me.

Go into preferences and make sure

FIRST_TIME_PLAY:FALSE

That's what they reccomend over at the rtr forums, but i never had any problems myself...

Been playing RTW / RTW with no problem so far EXCEPT last night. These last 2 days have been palying RTR for hours and last night suddenly my screen goes black and something about 'check cable' or something on screen.

I know it's not my monitor since I can play other games. It happend while loading right after I click on the shortcut (the screen goes black first maybe changing the settings) before the red background apeears. It's not crash but it's something that I never exprience before.

What do you think might happen ? Maybe I have change the setting or something and now it can't load (seems like not enough power). This happened after I stop (to give chance my wife playing her Sims 2). When I tried to continue then it happens.

I need help.

First, you should try both of the suggestions of Dutch_Guy and Sapi, as I've noticed they are pretty standard fixes for a number of RTR anomalies.

Second, you should edit your Org *profile* to reflect your country of origin "Location". This way everyone in the forum will know to compensate when reading your posts for the fact that English is not your first language. Knowing a person's Location helps in forestalling any communication lapses, such as poor English spelling, grammer, etcetera....

Third, if the two suggested fixes don't work then you should check at the TWCenter Forum, as they will be much more knowledgeable regarding the ills of RTR than the average Org forum member.
