Anyone read the book Godel, Escher, Bach: An Eternal Golden Braid by Douglas R. Hofstadter?

I've been meaning to read it for about 10 years, and have finally started it.

heh. Bad luck. I've started it about four times over 15 years and never got more than about half way. If you do finish it for god's sake don't tell me who dun it, OK?

I mean to read it. The Mind's I was pretty good.

read it a long time ago. iirc, it's a little overblown and repetitive.. which, considering the namesake's of the title is fitting, i suppose.

LOL - looks like it is going to be hard going.

I studied Formal Methods at Uni, so the first few chapters have been a bit of a refresher for me. We'll see how the rest of it pans out.

I'll probably have to buy some more Bach to listen to, so I can try to make the musical connections.

Well any excuse to listen to Bach is good.

I'm probably just stewpid, you'll breeze it. But I bet you begin to find that tortoise really ***** irritating.
