I recently attacked a 3-unit rebel army that was blocking the road to Patavium with a full 20-unit field army under my faction leader. The rebels ran away, didn't even offer me a chance to fight them (it didn't even go to the pre-battle screen), and my faction leader picks up "Doubtful Courage" trait?!?!?!?!

How on earth does THAT happen??? My faction leader is 10 star, 10 influence, legendary commander, eagle collector, conquering hero, no fear (the one where it says that battle is an old friend to be greeted and enjoyed), has annhilated countless Roman legions in his lifetime, and he gets "doubtful courage" when 3 peasant units RUN AWAY from his army???

I seriously don't get this game sometimes......can anyone explain how this happens???

I do believe that has been corrected or gotten rid of in patch 1.2

Do you have 1.2 installed?

You can get doubtful courage if you autoresolve with one general too much. It's a bit of in-game irony.

I didn't autoresolve. They just retreated......didn't even get a chance to go battle mode.....

I used to receive the same trait (very infuriating), but not since I downloaded the newest patch. ~:)
