Hello everyone,

I have recently noticed that , since I started playing STW WE , I haven't had a trade proposal from the dutch yet , even though I saw their ship landing on one of my provinces with a port. I have searched the forum to find a possible reason for this , but haven't found anything that answers this particular problem. Does anyone know why this is happening (or rather not happening)?
Thanks in advance

Don't know. I can't remember much about the dutch.

Maybe it's because you don't have a port in that region? Could be that, but it's just a gues ~:)

Hi,

you should get a message when they land at your port.
A short video sequence showing the ship + a parchment
telling you that they offer a trade agreement.
It may take them a while to reach you,
depending on where your provinces are.
Iirc they start their journey in the north (left of the map).

Have you already accepted the Portuquies trade offer?

I have a port in the province where their ship lands but the video just doesn't show up. I have tried accepting and not accepting the Portuguese trade offer but there's no difference.I guess it's just a problem with my computer or something , maybe I should reinstall it. Thanks for your reactions.

I have somthing annoying too. My advisor in the throne room sais the same eveytime I ask his opinion, but a reinstall didn't solver that. :dizzy2:

Yes. It would be very dissappointing if the mod stopped. I think it would be great game. I hope they continue, but we have few to say about that. :dizzy2:

See you later, m8!

Sometimes the ship arrives but doesn't trade...I remember this happening to me several times.

I'm pretty sure now that there's some factor that influences the dutch making a trade proposal which isn't mentioned in the manual. It's probably got something to do with the Portuguese but I'm not sure what exactly.

Dutch need the portugeese to arive and a church.
(may need a portugeese trading post as well But i dont think so)

portugeese say they need a church but they dont,

Its a bit backwards to what the game says but its just the way it is,
I answered in the apothecary thingy.

I don't think churches are needed m8, as I almost never build them and get Dutch offers regularly.

Maybe the Port had just been completed on the turn they arrived? I know that you don't get credit for a port's trade income until the turn after you get the message saying it has been completed. I've verified this by checking income when a port was finished in Autumn; hence I try and started buildling ports in Summer so they will begin producing koku for me in the following year's harvest, 6 seasons later (ports take 5 seasons to build). Perhaps the functionality of a port in regard to allowing offers from Europeans works the same way.

I think your thinking of the portugese,
My reply in the apothecary was almost exactly this,
and now he has it fixed :)
