View Full Version : What is GA and GA mode? Also in XL, would original eras have the same XL features??
Thanx for helping me a noobie.
Another problem that I have with XL mod is that I cannot switch to certain factions, using numbers.
How do I solve this problem?

GA = glorious achievements. It's an alternative for a domination game. If you choose GA mode, you can get points for certain errr... glorious achievements (wool monopoly, trade monopoly, kalmar union, hanseatic league, sainte chapelle,...) faction with most points in 1453 wins the game.
I don't know exactly how the faction switching thing works, but it has something to do with an -ian extension you have to put in somewhere.
yeah, at the last page of frogbeastegg's guide, by using -ian command line, u can switch to other factions by using numbers.
So, would adopting GA affact the behaviour of AI, if so does AI become smarter at buidling their empires and armies??
I believe - I could be mistaken - that many Mods are not compatible with the flags or cheat codes...

Many MODS have problems with GA as they are a real pain to edit...
About switrching factions, make sure you are running MTW with the parameter -ian (IIRC). And you will be able to switch again.
Switching factions is a developer mode function, so you must activate that mode in order to do it, thats what -ian will do
You may not be able to switch to the new factions in Mods that introduce them.
