OK, I admit it. I should have read the guide completely before starting.
Mea Culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa. But now I am deep into the short campaign and now I can't defend a Spanish town that I have taken because the gates (at both ends) are always open! They didn't start out that way...

I have tried to find an enemy spy or some such who might be doing this, but am so far unsuccessful.

Can anyone tell me what's going on? Even a reference to a page # in the guide (which I think I can still find) would be great.

Thanks.

Hi Auctorictas,

That means you've been infiltrated by enemy Spies or spy. ~:)

I've never personally tested rooting out spies with spies, but I strongly discourage this because spies cost you 100 per turn. If you put spies for every city then that's a lot of denari!

Instead of homeland security spies, you can just build an army and take the figh to their land! :charge:

Spies have many, many uses nonetheless. Read my Guide and Froggy's ~D

If it's the gates, then it is a spy. If it is actually the wall, then you need to repair it.

Use one of your spies to seek out their spy and then have an assasin kill it.

Always keep agents in all your cities. Spies to prevent infiltration or bribery, assasins to .... you know and diplomats to negotiate and bribe, if you can“t get there in time.

That takes time just like putting up a network of bishops in MTW.

that was just plain annoyin, every turn i got a message, your bishop has been killed. and your spies have catched an assassin
