Hello.
I've played RTW for a long time now on VH/VH and thought I would give the RTR mod a try for a change. I though it was ok until you end up defending a city over and over every turn. I'm getting this with Macedonia and Gaul in outlying provinces. I'm playing Julii. I don't mind a few repeat battles (siege defences) due to higher numbers of opposing armies but 8 times in a row and still going, starts to wear a bit thin.
Crush them, yep....I know! I'll get round to it eventually but its getting a bit of a dejavu feeling every turn while I build up my forces to take and hold their cities. The main disadvantage of having two many armies on the map it seems.
As usual, the senates demands don't help you to focus either for quick conquests of individual factions. It looked good at first but somehow there just seems a tad too many cities and a lot of repetition.
Anybody played other decent campaign mods?
