At school today, we were meant to be researching for an experiment of our choice, in me and my friends case, turning sound into light and transporting it back across the room, where it is turned back into sound (PM me if you want to know details). Anyways, i got bored, as i usually do, and searched on google images for 'exploding microwave' and found this great website: http://apache.airnet.com.au/~fastinfo/microwave/ (Microwaves and their many uses!) It is absolutely great. It shows the many things that happen when different objects are put in the microwave. Put in soap, and it will expand to 5 times its original size, and look like a hideous monster. Put in a mrshmallow, the same thing happens. Put in an egg, and you'll have a small explosion, and ready made scrambled egg.

Stupid thing. Microwaves, and their many uses! ( http://apache.airnet.com.au/~fastinfo/microwave/)

If i had my edit button back, i could have edited the original post, rather than having to post this, thus theoretically spamming.

post count +1!

I didn't see about Christmas tree lights

If you put them in the microwave they turn on and off at random times.

And they say that plasma (http://apache.airnet.com.au/~fastinfo/microwave/loop/spiral.html) is difficult to research 'cause it's hard to create.

Putting a remote control (batteries and all) in the microwave is quite an interesting one. Just don't try and use either for a while afterwards.

A cd or dvd makes for a spectacular lightshow!

Fragony, did you watch the videos of the CD on there? It is quite spectacular, like you say. I saw another website (it might hae actually been the one i posted) where they put a christmas tree baubel into a microwave. It looks like a big ball of fire.

If you live in UK, you may have seen Brainiac. Their slogan for doing dangerous experiments:

We do these experiments, so you don't have to!

I saw them putting plasma in a microwave on there. Very entertaining! ~D

Has anyone seen the picture of the lightbulb they put in the microwave? It's amazing. It's got a big popped bubble, and all the glass is still pointy from how it was molten and blasted along.

Do'nt put China in the microwave or dishwasher. Especially if it's got the gold lining.

Once my cousin put a fork in the microwave, then, once the food was done, she grabbed it to pull the dish out. Needless to say, she got burned.

It was stupid enough to be funny. My aunt didn't think so, however... ~

Heheh....my dinner went cold once, so i put it in the microwave, forgetting to take the knife and fork off my plate. I got treated to a magnificent fireworks display, as my sparking cutlery set fire to my dinner, which proceeded to set fire to the microwave, thus causing my parents to go crazy with the fire extinguishers. Oh well, at least we got a new microwave. I never liked the old one. But i never did get my dinner back... :embarassed:
