It just hit me this morning. Would it be possible to customize a unit's training and modify cost and training times accordingly?
Basically unies can start in 2 ways:
a.- a rabble of peasants
b.- a group of noblemen
THose above would have training time 0, no discipline and would be armed with sticks(peasants) and horse, swords and shields(noblemen). The only difference between them is morale, and some attack-defence.
If you want to make a unit "hardy" it will take 1 turn training and the unit will aquire that attribute and will be able to carry more armour or travel longer distances. "hardy" could be subdivided into levels, every level twice as long to aquire as the previous one.
Additional armour, secondary weapons, or better weapons would cost more and more money.
The more armour, the less the defensive skill and the greater the armour (doh!)
Mount the unit, takes another turn longer to produce and requires horses.
Make a unit disciplined, another turn, Elite, another year, phalanx ability? another turn, testudo? the same
Wouldnt that be cool?
