I just wondered what other peoples' thoughts were on this.
Happy-slapping is like slapping someone for no reason except a quick laugh. Sometimes, people fil happy-slaps on their phone.
At my school, if you are caught happy-slapping you excluded.
This was posted on another forums site.
Does anyone know why there are young people around all areas doing this to innocent people?
If you dont know what i'm talking about, it's those videos being sent around on phone videos showing, mostly, young black boys, slapping, flykicking beating up innocent passers-by just for their amusement and to pass them around on phones.
What possible reason is there to do this to someone that has done jack 2 u just to impress ur boys? This kind of homo behavoiur really digusts me.
Yesterday I saw one of a girl being flykicked by a group of about 6 boys and was really upset....what's that about?
how can it make them feel good to intimidate 1 girl and attack her and theres about 6 of them?
i can usually speculate why most things happen or have some sort of idea, but this one has got me baffled.
why would ne1 keep this and pass it around on their phone? my bro found it funny until i reminded him that could be me or his gyal it was happening to.
i know its unlikely that ne1 on this site is likely to go on like that but i was just wondering if some1 can explain WHAT could be the motvation for these 'people'.
has it happened to u or anyone u know?
It strikes me as really stupid, it's just hitting someone but you are recording it too. It's like keeping a diary whilst commiting genocide. Weird.
Although one of my mates at school did it to one of my other mates. It was quite funny. That's why you shouldn't force sixth formers to come in to pointless ICT lessons I guess. But it's different because it's not malicious or bullying or anything.

I agree. I would smash their phone as well, espeically if it had that damn frog on it.

Hmm, I'm surprised that person wasn't attacked further for retaliating. Happy-slappers usually hang around in big groups, just in case someone decides to react.
I thought the slappers always outnumbered the slapees (sp?)

Um, don't think it exists over here, at least in my town. One time my friend was sleeping in class, and my friend snuck up next to him and slapped his face to wake him up, but I don't think that's what you're talking about. ~;)
There was a case here in Sweden with about 6 -7 young boys filming while they for no reason at all kicked and pounched 2 guys untill they where on the ground motionless.
They did this while laughing and so on.
Luckily theese guys were total retards and filmed their faces! so the the police had no problem catching them!
still, wtf is the matter with people? why do this?

heh I do that sometimes but only to friends and not very hard, and only when they say somthing stupid.
Like "Where's Normandy...?"
*BAM!*
*gets Atlas, circles Normandy for them*
I remember an article a few weeks ago about John Prescott being approached by happy-slappers. Apparently one kid came up to him and insulted him (not knowing who Prescott is) and Prescott shouted after him to come back and say that again to his face. The kid ran off and came back with a group of mates, one of whom had a video camera. It was at that point that Prescott's bodyguards showed up and the kids ran off ~D .
This problem is related to a general social problem with an increasingly large section of society that needs to be dealt with. A whole generation of kids are growing up with no respect for the society that they are brought up in and no understanding of the value of its laws. The government needs to figure out how to address this problem sooner rather than later in my opinion.

I'm sure Two-Jags could have taken them if he had to. He dealt with that egg-throwing protester fairly decisively.

It will probably say on his Tombstone(in a long time of course ~;) ):

It is quite worrying about happy slappers, Alot of them are cowards who would never attack someone 1 on 1. They need alot of them because most of them are just weak. Like needing 6 boys to beat up 1 girl :furious3:

Any guy that beats up a girl needs to be hurt. A lot.
And to think people slap each other at school. Shocking.

Weird...
It's common practice within my circle of friends to hit one another in the pills without good reason. It has died down now, but at one point, it was a lot like a greeting.

Its not the same between friends. We probably all did it at school, for some reason it was known as Baeder Meinhoffing at mine.
I douibt this is anything new, its like devil dogs a few years ago, the media starts running the stories and for the next six months its nothing but dog bites man, then they get bored and you hear no more about it. The number of dogs biting people stays the same throughout.
The only new thing is now the muppets take pictures so they can be prosecuted more easily which has to be good, if anything.
I read the Prescott thing too. Must have been very funny, happy slappers vs Special Branch close protection, my money is on the coppers...

Well tjis person was part of a "crew" but the thing is with some people is that they really big themselves up but when it comes to the draw they chicken out. So none of his "mates" helped him out. Plus there were quite a few people round the person who got slapped as well.

Yout prolly right there EA but my money would be on John (mines a G+T barman) Precott to punch their lights out before they got to take any pictures. I mean it must be good training working in the bars on the North Sea ferries sorting out fist-fights an all.....

It is "two jags" because he owns two Jaguars (cars, not cats).

But also two jabs because of his decking that egg throwing welsh mullet wearer with a pretty tidy left jab for a 60 year old. One minute you think you are really clever for throwing an egg the next the deputy prime minister's punched you in the face. Priceless.
Insane's right Two Jabs certainly wouldn't wait for special branch before piling in himself.

Punching a woman in the face is certainly not 'happy slapping' ~:pissed:

I've found that a good kicking will stop most teenagers from repeating mistakes like happy slapping, if it's done in front of their mates then it serves as a warning to all.
If happy-slapping is indeed what I think it is (i.e. going round assaulting people for no apparent reason) then these people need to be dealt with pronto and not too easily either. It's the most pathatic anti-social behaviour I have seen in a long time and they all need to be sent to Siberia into work camps with all the junkees and dealers !

Britain should have their own Gulags
How about St. Helena thats way better than alcatraz because even if you do treach the shore its Africa. ~;)
Some young people just have no regard for society or anyone else in society. It is very sad to be in the same age group as them.

One time when I was riding a bus in Denver I saw a group of maybe 6-10 happy-slappers assaulting some guy on the streets. Luckily enough for the guy, a squad car arrived and two police officers jumped out and knight-sticked the living hell out of a couple of the teenagers and a couple others ran off, but were all eventually caught... I was a little squeemish at first, but by the end everyone in the bus was laughing their heads off, especially when one of the kids got busted right across the nose with a knight stick and another got busted in the mouth, which knocked out a couple of teeth... thankfully, I never got called into court as a witness. .. but it was the best rough justice I had even seen, Whose Cryin' Rodney King now biotch.

I actually think a lot of modern youth violence is caused by Generation X and the Baby Boomers (the lot of which are our Parents) and some may be one. But the Baby Boomers were essentially the first generation in history to be more concerned about themselves and their careers/Personal Goals than raising a family or teaching their kids right from wrong, it was just a lot more easy to send us to a daycare or Pre-School while they got on with their own lives. Eventually when we're old enough, they just give us a key to the home, and tell us they'll be home after work. This has distanced us from them in a lot of aspects, sure some parents need to pay the bills, or want something extra... but at the expense of neglecting your own children, I think is absurd. So many within my Generation (Y) and The Next Generation (O) are a lot more close to the children than Generation X. This doesn't mean everyone in our generation has been neglected, I mean I was a latchkey kid, and I have still good morals...I think the rest has to do with the society in which the kids were raised, a good lot of the happy-slappers come from destitute families, and on the other spectrum a lot of them come from wealthy families that have taught them through neglect that it is socially acceptable to do that. And the Middle-Income Families are generally caught in the middle.
The Hippies eroded societies values, this is what happens. Hope some Hippies get "Happy Slapped" and finally reap the disasterous seeds they had sown.

lol... my dad would full heartidly agree with you... of course he served in Vietnam and was shot twice, and when he came home he was spit on a couple of times... which even to me is absolutely abhorrent... but the hippies are about as much to blame for todays violence problems as Sesame Street is.
Say what you will but that grouch is one shady character.
No but seriously, anyone that disrespected a vietnam vet should be shot.

Even if you disagree with a war the veterns deserve respect
We were taught in history that the disrespect shown to vietnam vets was a myth, I didn't believe and I now am even more convinced it is a whitewash from an ashamed generation.

I have proof right from the horse's mouth so to speak. I don't think someone (especially my father) would lie about something like that. My dad fired a guy because he had long hair and an ear-ring and wouldn't lose em' based on his social beliefs... he sued, my dad won... end of story.

I wouldn't want to work for anyone as asshole that cares about how long someone's hair is
And what does Nam have to do with England exactly? Some protestors spit at vets, others didn't. Hippies hardly eroded social values. It is no one elses buisness if they wanted to do drugs and sleep with random people, and not work. The only people at fault are these kids and there parents.

People should start standing up for themselves man. Some people would ignore actions such as a group of kids beating someone and filming it and would rather just keep there heads down and walk on.
That Matthew Wright guy who writes for the sun or mirror wife was beaten by a group of youths because she was bald and the poor lass had cancer! What the hell is going on? How dare they put a person through that ordeal?
If that ever happened to me they had better finish me because i would make it my task in finding them with an even bigger group of fellas and beating them senseless reagrdless of their age or sex.
