I would like to start the row with two interesting pictures.
One shows the HRE start a crusade against the Papacy controlled Switzerland. Odd...
http://bretwalda.uw.hu/mtw/interesting/crusade_vs_pope.jpg
The other show that crusaders loot Bulgaria - I have never seen it before and I don't reckon that anyone has mentioned it on these forums...
http://bretwalda.uw.hu/mtw/interesting/loot.jpg
Any ideas?
For the first; I'd guess that the papacy took the province on the very turn that the crusade. The Ai of the germans targeted the province and launched the crusade, yet while still in the AI turn the Papacy invaded and took the province. could be wrong but that's my guess.
And the looting thing was added in VI i believe. I've had it happen numerous times and can be quite profitable.

Care to take a guess on this one? ~D

I think this one the link.
One the two pics above. The first one I got no idea, so Monk's guess is the best I can come up with. Was the Swiss excommed BTW? (I can see a part of thier flag).
Looting is a feature, although looting christians seems odd.
Crusades against the Pope?
Royal Spearmen?
The Prince of Novgorod?
ay carumba!!
ichi
ps I'd be interested to hear what became of Prince Yaroslav II

I'm gunning for the Danes in that insane blue map of the world. Always cheer on the underdogs.
And poor Yaroslav II. I think he has a few split loyalties, as well as a lack of horses. You own most of the known world - fetch the poor lad a horse!
Ironside:
I think I've figured it out. Prince Yaroslav's unit was routed after they had dismounted. Hence he only has spearmen.
DID I WIN??? DID I WIN???

If that was the case, chances are he wouldn't have had 85 men with him. And do they really dismount to amroured spearmen?
Are you playing some kind of MOD?
Boyars dismounts as puny archers, no sane player would ever do it...
The only other thing i can think about is: Did you marry a princess to that general and then your kingdom went without heirs?

Prince Yaroslav's unit info pic doesn't show
the crown indicator for the royal blood line.
Hence, he can't be a prince.
If he ever was one he would be a boyar.
I guess it's a bug. It would be interesting to know
if the other royal boyar in this army has the same name.
Also notice how both units have the golden banner
indicating a faction leader. Two faction leaders?

Are the Germans even alive in that pic? ( The one were the German King is named Yaroslav II.)
'Prince' is the title of the Russian king, btw, I think that is causing some confusion here. :)

I think the looting by the crusade happens in any province where more than 50% of the population is another religion and not catholic no matter the religion of the owners of the province. So if Bulgaria was >50% orthodox it gets looted.
Presumabley this was added to compensate for the fact that you got no crusade troops added to your army in these type of provinces from the province itself (maybe you still get troops from the occupying army if they are catholic?)

65 Florins isn't exactly rich pickings though. Must have been a tough year to have so little worth taking.

I've never had a looting happen for in all my time being the Purple People Eater(Byzantines). It probably has to do with army size as well.

Nope. I think this is linked with the "inheiriting a kingdom by marriage at the same time they got a civil war"-bug. That one won't kill of the nation but will "only" leave it without any troops and provinces. I have seen two kings once before and that campaign had this bug.
By some unknown reason this extra king shows up, I'm guessing that the extra king is the German king. You cannot suecide him without killing the real king, but you can disband him. ~D
The thing with the prince, um, don't quote me on this but doesn't the YELLOW Royal Blood Symbol mean king. Because their are two in that picture.
Also, the picture with the entire blue map, I don't get it?
Also, I tend to get Looted all the time. Not just in VI but the regular and I play as a Christian Faction.

Do you find any Germans on that pic? And what about the non-existing German king's name?

It seems to be worth to repeat.

Well, the crusaders did loot along their way: Constantinople, for example (I think it was the First crusade). And of course they looted Jerusalem and other conquered cities, as people tend to do when they conquer cities.

Poorly commented by me.
Correction:
A crusade that loot catholics felt odd.
That the Byz gets looted is quite historical.
Constantinople got conquered by the Fourth crusade BTW. Never touched in another crusade.

I was going through my old screenshots and I found a precious evidence for the earthly nature of His Hollyness...
There was a debate whether this is possible and it was agreed that it is important not to confuse the king of the Papal States with the Pope... but here it is...
