I don't, I do not see the point.

Is there a reason to log out?

yes, I log on once in the am before work, surf while I eat, then shut off the comp while I'm at work. In the evening I log on for a while then log off before shutting off the comp before bed.

ps interesting that my 2000 post would be about posting and logging on/off

only if you think somebody will get on your account and start spamming..... come to think of it, i may have discovered the reason behind some users spamming habits.

I must confess: no.

I don't even know what happens when you log out. :dizzy2: ~D

I think if you don't log out your name will be stuck for ten more minuters, before the .org automatically logs you out. So if you want to make sure that you're there when people think you are, log out.

Just logged out for the first time.

It gives a short message first, and then you can go back to the forum index, not logged in.

I log out sometimes, but not very often. Usually I just leave it logged in, so when I come onto the computer, I'm already logged in. Or is that just the "Remember me" function?

Anyway, I guess that's a yes.

i only go to the '.org on my own computer so I too have the ''remember me'' function.
So I voted yes.

I can't vote, but if i could, i'd vote for whatever option is closest to 'hardly ever'. If i logged out, i'd forget my password, so i can only log out for a few hours at a time, but, why would i need to?

Yes, I've seen some of those too.

I know one who's always active when I'm there, just always.

First guess who it is!!!!!!!

Reason to log out: shared computer. That's also when using a computer at school. As said before: you risk account hijacking if you don't logout in that situation.

You remain on the logged in screen, as long as you've a running browser session to the forum. And you may also be displayed active for a few minutes after that as the list has to be refreshed.

When you don't log out, there's still a cookie that does the logging in for you as soon as you visit again. Clearing the internet cache has the same effect as logging out.

The cookie is the remember me function.

Well, when I use a computer at school I first have to log on my user account, so that would be double(and unnecessary) security. :dizzy2:

I never actually log out, although I do close the browser window/tab that I have opened for the .org occasionally, which is when you won't see my name in the list.

If that means that there's no shared internet favourites folder, then it's double indeed.
