I leave for my recruiting station tommorow morning at 0600 and will arrive in San Diego at 0300 Tuesday morning. It's been pleasure to be a part of these boards and getting know you all. I hope that you all have a summer vacation that is as enjoyable and productive as mine ~D

You won't regret one second of it! MCRD was a beautiful place. I loved it. Like summer camp with guns and yelling and marching and cleaning and more cleaning and more marching. Life is good.

Speaking from experience: Sgt/USMC 6 yrs.

I recommend starting school as soon as you get to your first unit. But you will probably go to Iraq first. Have fun!

Good luck, man. I'll be serving tables all summer (hell in itself, but I'm not so sure it could compare to :furious3: ). Represent Wisconsin, none of this Minnesota crap ~D

You make me sad.

I was going to Join the US Army as a Combat Medic in the 82nd Air Borne, but was denied because of a shoulder injury (I'm getting surgery on it in December).

Best of luck, and welcome to San Diego ~

We'll try to keep the earthquakes and brushfires to a minimum during your stay (had a 5.6 magnitude rumbler yesterday), so we don't interfere with your good training.

Be sure to try a fair selection of taco shops while you're here. It's the real thing.

Good luck man, stay safe. Remember, the shiny object in the distance is the glare off an enemy sniper's scope.

Err, what questions would you be asking the enemy on the battlefield?

Best wishes soldier boy, I remember one of our buddies Wes from das org joined the USMC in 2001. I want to say that I appreciate the service of all you young lads, and the Marines I've known are a great group of guys.

I'll say my prayers for ya!

Err, what questions would you be asking the enemy on the battlefield?
Well, stuff such as this:

"Dude, like when is lunch?!?!" - Everyone understands food, so it is a good place to start.

"So, where do you find the best chicks around here" - drawing on their local knowledge.

"What kind of gun is that you have there? It looks totally awesome" - Men can easily relate to cool weapons, even across culture barriers.

Good luck! :charge:
