Bartix; a land of mist beauty and yellow fever. Home to many bartixian tribes, they speak a strange languge that consists of grunting and and oinking. They are of Persix and scythix stock, they are very lean. Infact, they look like stick people. Bartix is a large island in the middle of the caspixian sea

Phlagix hoplitix are the basic unit of the bartix army, they are very fast and throw their 56 foo long pikes at people.Then they stab people pretty good once the fighting starts.





KATPRAKTIX

The mighty Katprktix can fly over the head of the enemy and crush them.

Greetings, EB fans! This week’s preview will be of some of the more powerful bartix units.


Bartix war snake

Bartix war snake...they are faster then cavalry, 3 feet long, and bite right threw any kind of shield. They are the bartix answer to RTW vanilla war dogs.

no type of infantry can attack them, They can take out entire armies before any one even tries to
fight back.


Bartixain duck riders

They scare elephants and cavalry. They also have an AP attack that allows them destroy any thing in their path. They cause instant routs and they come back to life after every battle. They are also built in “0”turns and cost 10 denarii.

These guys are cool; and by cool, I mean totally sweet. They are mammals and the filp out and kill people. A ninja once kiled a kid just because he opened a window. When they are not flipping out and kiling people, they are usually busy flying.

The fearsome Bartix urANUS rayix is a fearsome weapon to behold, sitting on the Bartix homeworldix of urANUS. It is capable of zapping soldiers into pork scratchings, and turning nearby ones into tasty barbacue snacks for the starving Bartixan masses


The Bartix Kamikazix Squirrel unit, that stroms the enemy before being exploded by the Mind Rays from the Bartix King and thus splattering all over the enemy units making them all sticky and stuff and thus sabotaging their fighting effeciency!

All TWC mods (Urbanis Legio, Quaestor, Praetor, Consul, Dictator) have some kind of shield design on their user group graphic, excluding local mods (like Khelvan). Centurion Quintus is just a Civitates—somewhat comparable to the Guild's Senior Member honorific, although rather more dramatic—and he's only that temporarily and by mistake.

But enough of this. Let's not derail this thread from sheer silliness.

Bartix looks good, it has some amazing looking units however the historical Bartix also made extensive use of monkey militia when they needed to raise an army quickly they were usually equiped with spoons and a variety of pitchforks.

6: there should be a second version of the Kathaphraix.

I think it is appropiate to have the Bartix faction in an alliance with Armenia. Also, there are rumors that Bartix might have been affiliated with the twilight zone. You might want to investigate that.

The king of Bartix should be able to kill squirrels with his only mind. It is of grave importance that this doesn't get overlooked. And don't forget one of the flags of Bartix (they've got plenty):

The isle of Bartix had went through it's first golden age in the 3rd century BC. After having kept up trade connections with the greeks - who called the isle "Atlantix", they were cut off from all such contacts by the fall of Alexander the Great's empire, and the internal fighting between the diadochi. Bartix is often confused with Baktria, another important empire on the mainland near the isle.

The Bartix army, based around the plagix hoplix and their fearsome pikes used not for stabbing but for slashing, chopping moves much like swords were used by European armies of the time, grew powerful thanks to implementing the Persian cataphracts, converting them to the famous bartix katapratix. Thanks to this army, Bartix even managed to get a foothold on the mainland for a short period, which tragically ended by the death of the Bartixic king Alexandrix in 250 BC. After this, the empire experienced a time of destruction and internal rivalry, until finally in 220 BC not only the Bartixian tribes, but also the entire isle, was destroyed. It's from here that the tale of Atlantix, famous from Greek mythology, originates.

CULTURE
The Bartixian culture is well-known thanks to new archaelogical discoveries of pots found along the Indian coast in 2005 AD. Bartix decorated their pots with what we would call "wireframe graphics". Thin lines were favored, and humans depicted in the Bartixian art where often thinner than in contemporary greek and roman art, where anatomical correctness is favored. New science however suggests that this might not be because the Bartixian despised realism, but on the contrary that this means the Bartixian people in fact actually where thinner than greeks and romans of the time. This theory is supported by new ancient images of the plagix hoplix found by the scientist Abok Asix, and is gaining more and more popularity among scholars.

The Bartixians were also famous for a special type of art referred to as "smilix", which were mixed up in texts, and often only showed a stylized version of a face or facial expression to enforce the message of the text. During the late Bartixian golden age, these symbols were often overused.

The scientist Abok Asix has also here carried out an ambitious study, and claims that the modern Smilies originate from this Bartixian tradition. Smilix where adopted by the romans after their conquest of Mesopotamia during the reign of Trajan. We can assume that what in roman sources is called "smilii" are indeed the same thing as the Bartixian smilix.

THE TIME AFTER 220 BC
Although the Bartixian empire succumbed to internal fighting and possible also a natural disaster which made the isle sink into the ocean, the Bartixian empire no longer appears in any sources. Tactitus mentions the Bartixians in his Germania as "a determined people who dress themselves in short skirts - both men and women" He also states that: "the Bartixians used weaponry similar to the dacian falx", but one may question the correctness of this passage, because we know today that the Bartixians lived on an isle in the Indian ocean. Tacitus might have confused the Bartixians with the Roxolani, who also liked the letter "X" very much, and are known for using the "falx" in combat. Traces of a plagix hoplix sarrisix suggests that the Bartixians used phalanxix warfare instead of falxix and swordix. Dio Cassius briefly mentions that: "This island [Bartix] was involved in trade with the Roman empire in the 4th century BC", but apart from that no roman history writers even mention the isle.

Although Bartix has been forgotten for many thousand years, the recent discoveries outside India has opened the eyes of the historians all over the world and Bartix is now one of the most active fields of historical research. Also entertainment have found an interest in the mighty Isle. This new interest can, among other places, be found in new games and modifications of existing ones, including Europa Barbarorum.

The Confidentix are a mysterious lot, amongst the elite of the varied bartixian mercenaries. Not much is known about them, as they are always shrouded under a Bartixian black veilix mysterix*, giving away nothing of their equipment to their varied enemies, until it's too late. Sometimes they might carry Phlagix hoplitix style equipment, enabling them to stab people pretty good, sometimes fighting in Pandix methods, breathing fire or even using the fearsome 150ft pikes.

Historically, the Confidentix were a varied lot that sprung up into existence during the war resulting from the invasion of urANUS. These mysterious Bartixians would communicate in complex smilix messages, and, while offering their services to all nearby warlords and generals, only Bartixians could understand their meeaning. Near the end of the urANUS conflict the Uranians managed to decipher one of these smilix plates enabling them to use a small number of Confidentix mercenaries, but these renegades were quickly decimated in the battle of Kangix lake, where an elite Bartixian Katapraktix wing flow over their 150ft pikes and crushed them from above.

*veilix mysterix is a cunning camouflage device designed by an ingenious Bartixian scientist Kikkulix Tippux before the urANUS conflict. The Confidentix adopted it quickly in order to stay hidden from the Uranian death ray and to prevent Bartixian peltastix's heat sekking darts from hitting them and pincushing them pretty bad.
