Good lord I wish I could let you guys know so many of the incredible things we've got that we're working on! I'm so full of anticipation of our release of all this stuff that it's killing me. Of couse I'm not saying a word, and we still have a lot to do, but I'm consistently amazed even now at the things that are being done, and I know that this policy will make for a much better download when all is said and done. And I know that all of you will be blown away when the final product is let loose upon this earth! :jumping: :jumping: :jumping:

You know, the funny thing is, I'v been spending a lot of time on the RTR forums (I think it will be a really good mod as well) but everyone there is comparing about how this feature will beat EB and that unit looks wayyyy better than the unit in EB and how AOR will kick EB's ass any day and then noone will care about EB anyway, as if theres some kind of cut-throat competition going on between the two mods.

Whereas here, noone really cares.

Which is quite refreshing :)

Oh and yeah, can't wait :D

I'm fairly excited but apart form some nice looking faction previews i have no idea what makes EB so special.

Personaly I'm not going to get too excited just because the mod members keep going on about how great it will be.

Aye, the mod looks good but until the hornblowers release it, we'll basically never know. I am looking forward to playing it but have got the shits with"Countdown To open beta". It's got to be the longest goddamn countdown in Modding history!
I pity the poor bastards if EB aint all it's cracked up to be.

Personnally, i think EB isnt bragging. just because other mods dont release so much info this looks like bragging, since they can explain a lot.
RTR's community is bragging a lot more than EB.
and be honest, looking at screenies, reading historical sources and reading what EB is doing with the Strat-map. RTR doesnt come close.

I played RTR when it first came out but the behavior of their developers truly disgusted me to the core and I uninstalled it. To go around saying "F' EB, they suck and stuff because we say so, lets threaten them on our chatrooms for no apparent reason and badmouth them without provocation" is just so assanine and petty that I feel it completely discredits their work.

Maybe its just me, but I refuse to play something developed by a bunch of four year olds.

mmm, I too was disappointed in the attitude of senior RTR staff.

I was more surprised by the attitude of TWC members though- that just because they're acting like a bunch of nerdy insecure 15 year olds, noone should know because it'll cause 'rifts' in the TW community.

Personally I'd like to know the kind of people who are making a mod because for me it's not irrelevant.

I'm trying not to bash them too much. I'll definately download their mod, or at least I definately will if they release theirs before EB, but I just like this community so much more than the other ones. There's a friendliness here, as well as some serious intellectual rigour and a non-competitive attitude that just makes it all feel a bit more grown-up than the other TW places.

Well, though other, more fantastic (as in fantasy, not excellence) mods have the majority of my angst (being the unapplied form of anxious), (for instance, The Fourth Age: Total War) EB will fulfill my innate penchant for realism and accuracy.

I don't know about anyone else but im confused to what the difference between EB and RTR. I've been looking through both sets of previews and such and they both sound interesting. However i have heard on other forums that EB is a more 'stabalized' development whereas RTR is more loikely to have more bugs. I suppose the best thing to do is play the two to come to a conclusion.

One thing for sure is that im very impressed and delighted that the mods have been effective in replacing the vanilla version.

I cant see any vote category fitting for me. I really wanna play EB but im not gonna get anxious for it. I have to be anxious about so many things in real life that i refuse to be anxious for a computer game.

I go away for a while and everyone starts the RTR vs. EB thing here. Guys, let's leave that to other forums. We have no need of it. Our work stands on its own. We have no need to brag about what we do, we simply state what we do (some of it, to preserve surprises) and will allow you all to judge if it is good or not once released.

Many of us love it, but you may not. We'll see. Personally, I am looking forward to other mods quite a bit, such as Blue Lotus. But then again, after working a summer at Little Caesar's pizza and smelling the dough all day, I could never eat a Little Caesar's pizza again. I just kept smelling the dough. I haven't played EB since I started modding it...maybe once it is a finished product and the frustration of modding has passed...

Though, once it is finished I am sure I will have pages upon pages of people complaining about it to look forward to, no matter how good it is. Alas...

So, I say, Gah!
