A while ago someone posted an article on how to mod away the gaps between unit blocks. My guess is that it's something in desc_formations and desc_formations_ai, but I can't find it in the archives. I've reduced all the inter_unit_spacing in desc_form to 0.0, but it doesn't have any effect on the default formations when it comes to deployment. Can anyone help?

Try downloading Darth Vader's formation mod from TWCenter.net. It's particularly effective with enemy phalanxes, as they present a solid line and actually attempt to hold formation. Used in conjunction with player1's Bug-fixer, it makes battles much more enjoyable. ~D

I _think_ - and I'm not at all sure on this - that both the player and the AI use descr_formations_ai. Try it with that one.

Thanks for the help. I've experimented with the files, and desc_formations_ai seems to deal with the 'default' formations, while desc_formations is accessible via the group formations button. However, during the deployment phase, moving the 'grouped' formations automatically puts gaps between them again. I'll experiment again to see if it still does so when dfi takes out the gaps.

I'm not sure iif this is the sameone but I downloaded darthmod 5.0 MOD and than put the Mundus Magnus MOD on top. It's working fine put there still is a gap between phalanx units. In RTR MOD there are no gaps. The distances between the unit in both MOD are the same. I can not figure out what is the difference between Mundus Magnus and RTR MODs. Both are great but I'm a Macedonian man and the phalanx is the backbone to there army and with the gaps it makes it hard to win battles. :duel:
