View Full Version : Is it possible to trigger a revolt in AI settlements?
Has anyone ever tried to trigger a revolt in AI settlement? I tried unsuccessfully. I sent my assassins to sabotage Roman fellows' settlements building ... temples and other sanitary buildings. The public order were as low as 30 .. but the revolt never occurred.
I thought that if I succeed I could capture the settlement without starting a civil war with other Romans.
Any idea?

If the public order was lowered for only 1 turn then it's no wonder if there was no revolt. It usually takes at least 3 consecutive turns of rioting for the rebels to take over. It is also very difficult to keep public order low since the AI usually takes measures to fix things. You could send spies into the city to cause more unrest, but even that might not be enough if the AI lowers taxes enough and puts a large garrison there.
Playing as the Julii recently, I overstretched myself and had to walk my troops out of Masilia and back over to Patavium way. The public order plummeted but it took the gauls several turns of sitting there looking at the empty city before they took it.
Two turns later the city rebelled and kicked them out. I then managed to take the city back later and loot, loot, loot.
