Best leak ever - link (http://www.comedycentral.com/sitewide/media_player/play.jhtml?itemId=15789)
I couldn't stop laughing after seeing this segment. It's the most hillarious episode I've ever seen. The Bush bashing is also prescious.

I saw that - it was very funny. They did an excellent editing job when they had Blair and Bush answer the same question. ~D
I have to say that was funny, that guy certainly is good.

Thanks for posting that. It would be hilarious if it wasn't so incredibly frightening that the blithering idiot represents our country. Thank God that Luxembourg can't do us much harm... Reminds me of a corporate vice president of an organization I worked for that started off an engineering conference with a joke about a prostitute (and there were ladies present.) What's worse is that the conference was being videotaped for others. And it wasn't even a very good joke, nor did it relate to the conference or his other comments.
I know the Brits are down on Blair, but I really appreciated his speech on 9/11. It was comforting to hear some eloquent reassurance in our grief.
An excerpt:
"As for those that carried out these attacks, there are no adequate words of condemnation. Their barbarism will stand as their shame for all eternity.
As I said earlier, this mass terrorism is the new evil in our world. The people who perpetrate it have no regard whatever for the sanctity or value of human life, and we the democracies of the world, must come together to defeat it and eradicate it. This is not a battle between the United States of America and terrorism, but between the free and democratic world and terrorism. We, therefore, here in Britain stand shoulder to shoulder with our American friends in this hour of tragedy, and we, like them, will not rest until this evil is driven from our world."
You Brits wanna trade leaders? Ours is ... what did he call the President of Luxembourg to his face? Oh yeah, "A piece of work." And he was worried about the translation?
No trading, ta. We are very happy with our leader for the moment, he is far better than Bush at least.
The biggest strength of Blair is his way with words and his public presence, it is impressive, it is just a shame he can't always fulfill the hype he creates.

I can't help but wonder, what could have made Bush say that he's a piece of work. Does anyone have any extra info on the guy, maybe he really is a little cookie. ~

You might want to read one of the "Bushisms" sites. This is a pretty standard way for him to address other leaders, reporters, etc. He likes to use nicknames. Some Indian programmer friends of mine had a good laugh at a derogatory term he used for Pakistani's when he was setting things up with their leader.

God do you ever laugh Red Harvest? "Piece of work" is a term of affection and jest in the US. Do you honestly think the guy was offended, i doubt it.
I guess you would like it if our leader spoke with the same monotone as John Kerry, but many find his cowboy lingo refreshing. Id much rather here him give a speech than some old beltway guy who forced himself to adopt a non-regional tone. ~;)

Oh I laugh a lot. "Piece of work" is used about 50/50 in the derogatory...the rough equivalent of saying, "you are such a tool." As to whether PM Juncker was offended...I don't know, look at the video...he didn't look all that pleased about it to me. The first few times Bush did this sort of thing it was funny.
It is probably good that you don't mind being spoken down to by Dubya, many of us find him insulting. His demeanor in public statements is what one generally uses to speak to a first grade classroom. Bush can't even get the cowboy lingo right. Having a southern accent or a cowboy drawl or ozark hillfolk twang doesn't necessarily make someone ineloquent. Having an accent doesn't mean someone has to sound like they left school after 6th grade and never opened a book again. I don't think it is too much to ask of our nation's leaders that their speech actually be intelligible, no matter what their accent or lingo. At least he could do us the favor of getting his euphemisms and metaphors sorted out when he is talking down to us...
"There's an old saying in Tennessee — I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee — that says, fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can't get fooled again." —George W. Bush, Nashville, Tenn., Sept. 17, 2002 It sounds bad, it is much worse on video...
His staff alters the transcripts to try to clean up some of what he said. That received some attention when it was noted that his recorded video/audio statements had been "fixed" in the official transcripts.

'A piece of work' over here is 100% abuse and used as a derogatory term, I did take a second glance when I heard him use it.
Over here at least it is used in a 'what a nasty guy' or 'what a waste of space' context.

maybe so, but it does show bush's ignorance. I know that if i was on t.v infront of millions that i would be pretty mad at someone calling me a piece of work.

That was my thought...initially. After some deliberation, I've concluded that being called "a piece of work" by Dubya might actually be a compliment, even if he didn't intend it that way. Certainly in Europe it would be a "net positive" and then there is that 48% at home...
