Frequently, when the topic of Chrisianity comes up around here, it's usually with scorn and derision and maybe a little fear. I can't argue, plenty of Caholic and Protestants preach the way of submission or damnation.

Yet, at 86, in failing health, I offer you the best example of what I one day hope to be.... with his last breath, he tries....

For those of you who have been preconditioned to expect a verbal ass-whuppin from a 'typical southern preacher', I should advise you that the Rev. Graham preaches the love of Christ, on a public level and on a personal level. No scorn, no hatred, no derision and no requests for money to send him to heaven. I believe you will find him a welcome relief. If you thought the Pope was a good man, and he was, here's one I dare say is better. Catch his words while he lives...

Thank you for sharing.

As a man who thinks that shooting a toddler in the head for making too much noise is justified, I believe your views on Rev Graham certainly carry some merit. I know this is going to piss you off, but that's not why I say it:

I will pray for you NeonGod. Your torment can end at the moment you choose. God really does still love you.

I don't doubt that he is a very enlightened person, and a good person who has contributed positively. I doubt that he will convert any atheists into believers though. I only hope more Christians(an even muslims) follow his example, and this world would be a little a better.

Speaking of the "best of us" how about the "worst of us". Here's a guy who takes advantage of people. When I saw the CBC thing on him I was apauled. You can watch it here if you want: CBC - link (http://www.cbc.ca/fifth/main_miracles.html)

This guy Benny Hinn, pretends to do miracles on people, and he has his own christian church that does miracles and all the money goes to him. If it was up to me this guy would be on death row for a scam that large.

Aah, but BP, he's having fun, no? Fun, fun, fun, your goal, no?

Now, be fair. I never said that.

I'm indifferent, really. What the man believes is not my business, and he's never said a word to me.

I appreciate the concern, Corleone, and if this is an attempt to improve relations between us, I appreciate that as well; while we have vastly different views on theology, I have seen you to be a reasonable man. However, and no offense is meant by this, Christianity isn't for me.

For those of you who don't get the reference, I posted 3 instances in another thread which I thought surely proved humanity was operating at sub-par. Byzantine Prince, however, was here to enlighten me... it was all about fun. So, in the spirit he intended it, I choose not to listen to him, other than to occassinally say, "Fun, fun, fun". Should you think my stories were fun as BP asserted, or NeonGod's assertion that killing a 2 year old who was crying to much was understandable, I strongly encourage you to respond to them. But if you happen to believe tales of inhumanity aren't so fun, I encourage you to answer these bastions of morality with my new choice phrase for them, "fun, fun, fun".

And NeonGod, BP, much like Forrest Gump... "That's all I have to say about that".

Go ahead Don, ignore my posts by responding with what I can see is only as a misunderstanding on your part.

When I said criminals thought their crimes were fun I didn't mean I thought it was a right thing for them to do. I refuse to accept the "evil" theory though. If you don't like my interpretation of the world, that's fine, but don't think that I'm a simpleton.

Well, BP, if it makes you feel any better, I pray for you too. I just can't debate you any more, as I don't believe we have a similar rule base. If it makes you feel any better, 'you win'. Anyway, click the link, he won't throw holy water on you. ~D

A man both Christians and Non-Christians can learn from. Try and catch his earlier crusades, they were very moving.
