As you may or may not remember, a while ago i made a topic called "what's your background?" Well, i thought it would be a good idea to revive it, but i couldn't find the original so i made a new one. Anyway, here's my desktop:
...Ack, stupid imageshack is currently refusing to work for me, so i will upload at another time. Anyway, post your desktops!

*Just got the DVD of the making of Dark Side of the Moon. Not bad, good interviews and clips, but I wish the old footage of music lasted longer. Worth the $15. (Especially since it was a gift! ~D )
Still waiting, waiting, waiting for the Pulse DVD to come out. ~:handball:

Don't like Rotterdam, everything is so far apart! And it is all so gray. The only hint of a centre is the Oude haven, all the rest is br33z4h!!!-entertainment. Gimme Amsterdam over Rotterdam any day of the week, even little Amersfoort has more entertainment then that manhattan wannabee!

I like it... Holland's only city and I'm a city-person... so I don't like no towns ~;) Great thing 'bout Rotterdam is that it has something for everybody... if you miss smallscale Amsterdam or Leiden you can take a trip to the Witte de Withstraat... but you notice it's Rotterdam because every restaurant or café there is exotic... en dat is wel de shit, ouwe! ~;p
But maybe it's also the many immigrants from my home country, the Antilles ~D

(139 189 140) -- it is a plain colour, a light green, remeniscent of some types of tea leaves, or the mint filling in those chocolates that have mint in between the two halves:
Very similar to the green in this dessert:

Any suggestions for streching it without loosing resoltuion(yes I'm a dunce)?err.. you're going to loose some sharpness (if not resolution) regardless of how you stretch it. but you can use an image program to interpolate it to a new resolution. here are a couple of examples, stretched to 1024x707 (i didn't change the aspect ratio) in two different free image editing programs, irfanview and gimpshop:
irfanview (using the lanczos filter resampling)
https://img186.imageshack.us/img186/4194/trenchirfan0bw.th.jpg (https://img186.imageshack.us/img186/4194/trenchirfan0bw.jpg)
gimpshop (using the cubic interpolation layer scaling)
http://img186.echo.cx/img186/8809/trenchgimp4qs.th.jpg (http://img186.echo.cx/img186/8809/trenchgimp4qs.jpg)
the difference in color is because i saved the irfanview jpg using greyscale. both are saved with jpg quality of 100%. anything more complicated than that and i can't help you.

Thanks Big_John. This will do just fine.
Big_John
07-05-2005, 07:21
oh, ok.. those were supposed to just be examples, but that's cool. ~:)
you should look into gimpshop, i'm sure there are ways to improve the image after resampling it.
