Good. If we kicked them all out we'd just have to get them all back in again to do the crappy jobs they are doing now.

Besides be interesting to see how many of those are now actually EU citizens etc.

I'm not getting this. The whole Paxman interview banging on about how many illegal immigrants there are seemed daft. How is a Prime Minister supposed to know something like that? It almost seems unknowable (I'm not convinced by what little I've picked up from the method used now - from the Channel 4 News report this evening, it seemed to start from the premise that illegals will have declared themselves as foreign born in the census?). Now Blair's done the reasonable thing and asked for an informed estimate, he is accused of being coy or lying.

Well most the people on the dole can be considered rude, lazy chavs, and I don't want them serving me. I'd rather pay them to rot and do cash jobs than have to deal with them regularly.

That 'informed estimate' method is similar to the yardstick we use here to guess how many 'undocumented workers' (the current euphemism for 'illegal alien') live here.

The article refers to an amnesty...we do that here every 10 years or so, when the pendulum swings from "OMG they're taking our jobs!" to "Cheap unregulated labour = good labour". Has amnesty been done before in the UK?
