I guess everyone knows, but just in case...
I train 15 inquisitors and move them through the provinces that the Crusade shall pass.I let them till they reach zeal to a point that doesn't go any higher, it is different to each province. I assign a 10-crosses pious general as crusade leader. If a province's zeal is higher than 90%, i leave the crusade there for a second year. The crusade starts with 500 hundred men, and by the time it reaches Constantinople it numbers 3.500 thousand men. Cheap, powerfull armies, ready 2 command after the crusade is over.
I just send as many crusades as possible in the shortest time possible, skipping non-christian provinces by see and using my regular army as support and I usually get 4000+ in a crusade anyway.
hmm..

Christian zeal can always be maxed (not muslim though), but you'll need to burn generals, aka keep the inquisitors busy to get 100% or they'll burn the people.

R u sure about this? Cause even though the inquisitors are not burning people, i do not see the zeal getting any higher in the regions below Franconia..

It can possibly be a change in the expansion, because I know that I've burned the Sicilian family in the middle east. My grand inquisitors got the zeal from 0% to 100%. ~D
If you put 2 or 3 cishops in the same province as an inquisitor they don't burn the population. There is still a chance they will though, so the more bishops the better.

Also, I think (if you're paying attention) you can see it coming the turn before (the inquisitor will change his posture, and it will say "inquisition of an individual" on his parchment).

Yes, IIRC that's right, though you'll often miss it in the mass of other stuff you have going on.

I just put my troops on the same province on the same turn the crusade is about to invade
