I'm not sure if this is the right place for this, but if it isn't, i'd appreciate movement into the appropriate forum...

I've been trying to create a mod that ups armour while retaining all other attacks, and also gives other factions new units. One change dear to me is the granting of Light Lancers to Thrace.

Firstly, how do you change the time limits of battles such that the increase in armour will not cause you to run out of time? I attempted a wall battle with this, hastati vs hoplitai, and i ran out of time before the walls or gates were even taken.

Secondly, is there some way to make the unit card for the Thracian Light Lancers not that of peasants? Because at the current moment the Thracian battle model for the LL consists of a macedonian rider and a thracian horse, and the card is a peasant. Is there any chance of at least replacing the peasant card with a Macedonian LL card?

If you read the Welcome to the Modding Forums thread stickied in the General forum you will find a description of what each forum should be used for. Please ask questions in the General forum. Move from the Forge.

There is a tutorial by Myrddraal here (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showpost.php?p=682967&postcount=20) which should help you out with changing the unit cards.

One of the basic campaign options is to have no time limit on battles. This is great for slowed down kill rates, but does have some awkward side effects....

For example, I had totally wiped out the enemy all bar one unit of harse archers that had not actually got caught up in the melee. I pursued with cavalry...they ran away. If I stopped chasing...they shot at my cavaly. So...I kept up the pressure. They ran..my cavalry followed...they didn't route...but just kept opening the distance to avoid close combat. This went on so long I got bored and surrendered!

I had no units capable of catching the horse archers, and insufficient units to head them off. stalemate. The timer would have saved me! I was defending, so the victory would have been mine...

I have not seen a tutorial around for changing the length of the timer...but if there is one, I would make use of it myseflf!

This is just in patch 1.2 though as i understand it. Is that right?
Bwian is right about the side effects though. It can result in some very silly "Benny Hill" style chases as you try to hunt down the last unit on triple speed............
