I think its admirable that an almost 60 year old man stays in shape like he does. Lets see how fit you are at that age Tibilicus.. ~;)
In any event im surprised this hasnt made headlines if its true, it didnt take long for the pretzel thing to get out.
Dont worry it (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20050706/ap_on_re_eu/g_8_bush_bike_accident) is.

You are not sure if you want an answer?! Well, I'll give you one anyway, just to be on the safe side, ok?
Of course you aren't an idiot, clumpsy maybe, but certainly no idiot. Personally, I would like to shake the hand of a guy who never choked on his food or never fell of a bike.
Maybe a paralized guy somewhere, eating from a tube that cannot ride a bike (he is paralyzed) but then again, he cant shake hands either!
~;)
edit: maybe GWB is just thrilled, as am I, that tour de france is happening - and want to share his happiness

What about the time he dropped his dog out a helicopter.
And the time he fell off the Segway.
And the other time he fell off his bike.

On behalf of the Jews, they are offended and call you a racist for not mentioning them, they feel they are discriminated against, since they werent mentioned, please apologize to the Jews.

Can we get over the pointless Bush bashing? I'm as much in favour of Bush bashing, WHEN IT IS DESERVED. However, while there are many things about Bush that deserve criticism, his ability to guide a bicycle is so trivial as to wonder why anyone would bother to comment on it...

He's confident that he can regain some time in the next few flat stages and that by the time they reach the mountains he will be close enough to Armstrong that it could be anybody's tour.

Rofl, classic Ichi, that really made me chuckle. As did the original story, all the BBC news reporters couldn't keep the smile off their face - likewise with other news reporters as well - when they reported the story, what a laugh and what a fool. ~D

I hear Bush started off with a 20 man escort and by the time of the accident only four had been able to stay with the old man.

He crashes his bike and it's in the news? Sucks to be president.
59 and biking is impressive.
Hmm, my dad is sixty and he can ride a bike as well as I can(19). He had a big accident when I was a year old, broke his neck in three or four places, and he is still stronger and more agile than me in some ways. So I have to say I can´t really see the miracle in Bush being able to ride a bike, I see older people riding bikes here in Germany quite often.
If you can ride a bike with 90 that would be more impressive I think. ~;)
I don´t think he´s an idiot though, I think the press just wants to make money out of his problems, a lot of people die and nobody cares, but if Bush has a small accident with a bike, the whole world needs to know. :dizzy2:

My dad is 62 and he rides 20-40km a day if the weather is good. My uncle is near 70 and sometimes rides up to a hundred km in one stretch.
I wonder how fast Bush rides though, my dad rides 20-24 km/h and my uncle 25-30 km/h (estimated for him).

It's lighter news, a nice contrast to the wars, famine, terrorism and all those other things in the news, you can't have just the big issues in the news, it would be too depressing.

I just watched Conan O'Brian and when he announced it almost every one in the audience clapped. and then he said something to the affect that maybe President Bush should start riding a real bike instead of a tri-cycle. anyway it was funny. Of course President Bush isn't the clumsiest President we've ever had... just look at Gerald Ford.
