map demos

Hi all,

How can you edit those small map demos that show up at the battle map selection menu? I have made several maps but all have the same ugly map demo.

Sure you can, http://www.totalwar.org/maps/Guideline.shtml describes this.

When you've made a map Mymap.jjm, you have to make a TGA file called Mymap.tga. Save both files in the same battle/maps folder.

Best way to make a TGA is to play Mymap.jjm, and make a screendumb of it by pressing F2 (best is to go to the widescreen format first, by pressing F3 until the screensize doesn't change). You can find the screencapture in the TGAs folder. Best is to edit the TGA in a paintApplication first as the TGA is rather large. Best is 304 * 120 pixels.
