Would "ideal capitalism" be the same as unregulated free market? If so the best example of that would be the monopolies known as the trusts.

Is there an anarchist economic system?

Unregulated just leads to trusts so in the end its not very free for the consumer.

Yeah, that's why I went for the market economy. I assumed "market economy" meant a regulated free market economy. Don't laugh, while that sounds like somewhat of an oxymoron it isn't. Left to totally free market capitalism the bulk of us would end up as virtual serfs working for monopolies that utterly controlled trade and squashed any competition through any means. End result is dangerous, inferior products and zero competition.

The problem with the unregulated total free market capitalist ideal is that it is unstable, driving itself away from the ideal to something that is completely different.

One could make a similar argument for Communism...since it also eventually destroys competition and individual initiative.

Social Markey Economy but with one very big caveat: only the genuinely weak and needy get help.

Sorry - too many spongers about.

I voted ideal Communism, because what could be better than everyone having what they need. Unfortunately, it isn't possible as long as scarcity exists. What someone "needs" is also a very subjective term, so you'd have to be able to create matter out of nothing for everyone to always have what they believe they need, to solve the problem of scarcity.

Realistically, a moderate market economy seems ok.

Ideal communism. Everybody gets what he needs and does what he can.
Don, there is no Politbureau in ideal communism. It is government by the people, like democracy, but without the influence of capital.
