My deepest apologies to our friends from the le Gran Republique (sp?) . I hope yesterday was a great day, with lots of beer/wine & socializing and good food. ~ ~

My apologies for missing the day. I have no idea why, but I have committed it to memory as July 18th. I realized my error when I saw that story about Chirac.

Anyway, despite our difference on some things, I wish you well. Viva la France!

Hey, thanks Don :balloon2:

I was thinking about bringing it up here, but like the 4th of july, a thread about it would serve no purpose other than to congratulate people.

Then again, now that you've started one, I do feel flattered about it! Thanks! :jumping:

the le Gran Republique (sp?) 'le' means 'the', so that's double. And it's 'La', the Republic is feminine. And with an 'é': République and blahblahblah...

Gah! We'll stick with English.

Thank you all!!! I know the French Revolution Spirit was betrayed, but it is still a great hope:" All men born and stay egal in front of the law. No distinction will be done on the base of birth, origine or Religion". What a great idea. We should try.

Happy Bastille Day (yesterday).

We forgive all your Presidents criticisms of us, in the same way I hope you can forgive all the stupid Wars our Prime-Minister starts. It's the people that count not one person.

We know you love us really (and secretly wish you were us ~:) )

Late, late answer.....

Was blocked the whole day at home for being in alert(in case of problems at work). There was no alert whatsoever. But I still earned more than 300 €uros for that ~D . A good day, being paid for staying at home ~

And I watched a part of the great Parisian Parade with Chirac & its guest Lula. Just when I switched on, the parading regiment was the 27th Alpine Hunter. My former regiment. All in white. "The traditional uniform they wear here as you see them is the one that allows them to survive at -15°C temperatures", said the journalist. Argh. First sentence, first bullcraps.

1) Hunter's traditional uniform is blue.
2) The white one you see is a pure parade uniform - only useful when the TV is there. The color of your underwear has to be carefully chosen so that noone sees it throuhgh the uniform.
3) There is no need of Alpine Hunters at hot temperatures of -15°C. Anti-cold training is not even useful at -15°C. At -25°C the difference begins.....

So, 1 sentence, 3 blatant errors. I hate journalists. GAH! :duel:
